Sealed, Driver-Matched Cabinets

Image Dynamics drivers are bought for accuracy, and a sealed cabinet is what lets them behave that way. Every enclosure on this page is sealed, cut in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to the published parameters of the specific Image Dynamics driver it names.

The range runs 10, 12 and 15 inch, single and dual. The loaded builds arrive with the driver already mounted; the rest are cut for a driver you already own.

Sealed Image Dynamics enclosures in stock across 10, 12 and 15 inch, in Performance Optimized and Professional Series, standard and wedge.

Cut, assembled and finished in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to the parameters Image Dynamics publishes for each driver. Polyfill pre-installed on every build.

Driver parameters are taken from Image Dynamics published data. We stock Image Dynamics subwoofers and cut enclosures to those figures.

Image Dynamics Enclosures by Size and Build

Cabinets are cut per driver model rather than per nominal size. Use this for the shape of the range, then match the model number named on the product page.

Sealed, Because That Is What These Drivers Want

There is no ported cabinet in this collection and that is deliberate rather than a gap. Image Dynamics subwoofers are chosen for control and low distortion, and a sealed alignment is what preserves that: a closed volume acting as a spring, a gentle roll-off, and transient response that follows the music instead of ringing behind it.

The cabinets split across two build standards. Performance Optimized covers most of them on a 1.5 inch double baffle; the rest are Professional Series, where the bracing and baffle work go further because the driver justifies it.

How to Choose

Start from your driver

Ten, twelve or fifteen inch, and which Image Dynamics line it belongs to. That single answer narrows the range to a handful.

Single or dual

Mostly singles, with duals in the range. A dual is not two singles joined together: each chamber is cut tighter than the same driver gets on its own, because the cabinet still has to fit the same space.

Performance Optimized or Professional

Performance Optimized is the standard driver-matched build on a 1.5 inch double baffle. Professional goes further on bracing and baffle construction, which is worth it when the driver is the centrepiece of the system.

Loaded or bare

The loaded builds ship with the driver already mounted and wired. We stock Image Dynamics subwoofers separately as well, so you can buy the pair or just the box.

Matching the Cabinet to the Driver

Image Dynamics publishes different parameters across its subwoofer lines, so the cabinet is cut per model rather than per size.

The model decides the volume

Two 12 inch Image Dynamics drivers from different lines want measurably different net volumes. The product page names the model each cabinet was designed around, and that is the match to work from.

Then the shape

A wedge needs its depth measured at the deepest point and suits a space with a seat back or a sloped wall behind it. A standard cabinet just needs the opening. Both are sealed and neither is acoustically better; they fit differently.

Then mounting depth

Worth checking before anything else if the space is shallow. Published external dimensions and the cutout are on every listing.

Every Cabinet Here Is Sealed

That is a design decision rather than a gap in the range. These drivers are bought for control and low distortion, and a sealed alignment is what preserves it. Polyfill is pre-installed on all fourteen, because the fill is part of the tuning rather than an accessory.

Buy the Box, the Driver, or Both

The loaded builds ship with the matching Image Dynamics driver already mounted and wired. The rest are cut for a driver you already own. We stock Image Dynamics subwoofers separately as well, so whichever half you still need, it is here.

Two Build Standards, Two Shapes

Performance Optimized covers most of the range, with Professional Series above it. Most are standard front-firing; the rest are wedges, tapered on the rear panel so the baffle stays vertical and the box sits flush against a seat back or trunk wall.

Every one is sealed and every one ships with polyfill already installed. Most are single-driver cabinets, with duals across both IDQ sizes and the IDMAX 10.

Image Dynamics Subwoofer Box Questions

Which Image Dynamics subwoofers do these boxes fit?

The cabinets here are cut for Image Dynamics subwoofers in 10, 12 and 15 inch across their subwoofer lines. Each product page names the exact model it was designed around. Match the model number rather than the nominal size, because two 12 inch drivers from different lines want different net volumes.

Do you sell Image Dynamics subwoofers as well?

Yes. We stock Image Dynamics subwoofers alongside these enclosures, so you can buy the driver and the cabinet together or separately. Some of the cabinets here already come loaded with the matching driver.

Why are none of these ported?

Because a sealed alignment is what suits these drivers. Image Dynamics subwoofers are chosen for accuracy and control, and sealed preserves that: tighter transient response and a gentle roll-off, in a smaller cabinet. If you specifically want ported output, our ported catalogue covers other drivers.

What is the difference between Performance Optimized and Professional?

Performance Optimized cabinets are cut to one driver on a 1.5 inch double baffle and make up most of the range. Professional Series goes further on baffle construction and internal bracing. Both are cut to the same published parameters; the Professional build is more cabinet around them.

Should I choose a wedge or a standard cabinet?

It is a fitment decision, not an acoustic one. Both are sealed and both are cut to the same volume for a given driver. A wedge tapers on the rear panel so it sits flush against a seat back; a standard cabinet is a straightforward box. Measure the space and pick the shape that suits it.

Do these ship with polyfill?

Yes. Every sealed enclosure we build ships with polyfill already installed. You do not need to add any and you should not remove it, because the fill is part of how the cabinet was tuned.
