One enclosure listed, a Professional Series ported cabinet for a Digital Designs 8 inch driver at $299.99. An 8 inch ported box is a less common request than a 12, and it exists because a small driver in a properly tuned ported cabinet will reach lower than the same driver sealed, which matters when the space available rules out anything bigger.

Port area is the constraint that decides whether an 8 inch ported build works. A small cone moving hard through a small port produces air velocity, and velocity produces chuffing. Getting the port sized right is most of the work on a cabinet this size, and it is why we cut these to spec rather than scaling down a 10 inch design.

Digital Designs builds a broad catalogue and we list one enclosure for it. That is a catalogue gap rather than a capability gap. The 500, 600, 700, 1000 and 9500 series are all buildable, sealed or ported, single or dual.

Give us the exact model, the alignment you want, and your maximum external dimensions. We calculate net volume from the driver's published Thiele Small parameters and cut a cabinet to suit. DD drivers vary considerably across their range in what they want from a box, so this is not a case where a generic enclosure will do.

We build enclosures for Digital Designs but do not stock the drivers. You supply the sub, we supply the cabinet.

How These Are Built

Langboard Elite 3/4 inch MDF, CNC cut on ShopSabre routers in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Internally braced, prewired to a Proline X ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup with stainless steel hardware. Professional Series enclosures carry a 2 year limited warranty on craftsmanship and materials.

Sealed or ported for a DD driver?

It depends on the model, and DD drivers vary a lot across their range. Divide the driver's free air resonance by its electrical Q. Below 50 suits sealed, above 100 favors ported, and between the two either can work depending on what you are after.

Every Proline X enclosure is cut to order rather than pulled from a shelf. A custom build adds design time on top. Call and we will give you a realistic date.

What is the warranty?

Professional Series enclosures carry a 2 year limited warranty on craftsmanship and materials. Any warranty on the Digital Designs driver is handled through DD.
