Check the Impedance Before the Amplifier
The RSq3 comes dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm, and the parallel options are unusually low. A single dual 1 ohm parallels to 0.5 ohms, and all four coils of a dual 1 ohm pair parallel to 0.25 ohms. Series wiring is the default answer on this driver. Work the load out before you buy the amplifier.
We Cut the Box, You Source the Driver
We do not currently stock One Audio drivers. Both cabinets are built to the figures published for the RSq3, for a subwoofer you already own or buy elsewhere. Nothing about the fit depends on where the driver came from.
Both cabinets are Performance Optimized wedges. Each product page states the net volume, the alignment on each coil version and the external dimensions.
One Audio Subwoofer Box Questions
Which One Audio subwoofers do these boxes fit?
Both cabinets are cut for the One Audio RSq3, the 12 inch Reference SQ driver, and they fit either coil version. Match the model rather than the diameter. One Audio publishes separate parameters for the dual 1 ohm and the dual 2 ohm, and the product pages carry both.
Do you sell One Audio subwoofers?
No. We build the enclosure and you source the driver. Both cabinets are cut to the published figures for the RSq3, so they suit a subwoofer you already own or buy elsewhere.
Should I choose the single or the dual?
The single suits a build where the subwoofer completes a front stage and cargo space matters. The dual gives the same character with more output, at the cost of space, amplifier power and a different impedance load. On this driver the impedance question is the one to settle first.
Why does the impedance need so much care on this driver?
The RSq3 comes as a dual 1 ohm or a dual 2 ohm. A single dual 1 ohm gives 2 ohms in series or 0.5 ohms in parallel, and almost nothing is stable into 0.5 ohms. Paralleling all four coils of a dual 1 ohm pair lands at 0.25 ohms, which most amplifiers treat as a short. Work the wiring out before you choose the amplifier.
Why is the cabinet larger than the net volume suggests?
The RSq3 displaces 0.23 cubic feet, two to four times what a typical 12 inch takes out of a box. Every chamber has to be built to 1.43 cubic feet gross to present 1.2 net, so the external size runs ahead of what the net figure alone would imply.
Do these ship with polyfill?
Yes. Both cabinets ship with polyfill already installed. You do not need to add any and you should not remove it, because the fill is part of how the enclosure was tuned.
Can you cut a size you do not list?
Possibly. Everything is CNC cut to order in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Contact us with the One Audio model and the space you are working with and we will tell you whether we can build it.
