ProLine X - Performance Optimized Series - Audio Intensity

Cut for Arc Audio SW, A-Series, ARC and X2 V2

Arc Audio runs four subwoofer families and they do not want the same cabinet. The SW series is shallow-mount and exists for spaces a standard driver will not fit. The A-series and ARC series are standard-depth. X2 V2 sits at the top of the range. Each has its own published parameters, so each gets its own box.

Every enclosure here is CNC-cut in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The loaded builds arrive with the Arc driver they were cut for, and we stock the drivers separately too if you would rather buy the box bare.

Sealed Arc Audio enclosures in stock across Micro, Performance Optimized and Performance Series, in standard, down-fire and wedge orientations. Some ship loaded.

Cut, assembled and finished in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to the parameters Arc Audio publishes for each driver. Polyfill pre-installed on every sealed build.

Driver parameters are taken from Arc Audio's published data. We stock Arc Audio subwoofers and amplifiers and cut enclosures to those figures.

One Brand, Four Different Cabinets

The temptation with a brand page is to treat the brand as the specification. It is not. An Arc SW10 and an Arc A10 are both 10 inch Arc Audio subwoofers and they need measurably different enclosures, because the shallow motor and the standard motor have different parameters and different mounting depths.

So every cabinet here names its driver. The SW builds are cut around the shallow line and lean on Micro Series construction; the A-series, ARC series and X2 V2 builds are cut around their own alignments in Performance Optimized and Performance form. Matching the model number is the decision that matters.

How to Choose

Model number first

SW10, SW12, A10, A12, ARC 10, ARC 12, X2 V2 10 or X2 V2 12. That answer does most of the narrowing on its own.

Loaded or bare

The loaded cabinets ship with the Arc driver already mounted and wired. If you already own the driver, the same cabinet is available bare.

Single or dual

A dual is not two singles joined together. Each chamber is cut tighter than the same driver would get alone so the cabinet still fits the space, and that is by design rather than a compromise.

Pick the orientation for the space

Standard front-firing is the default. Down-fire aims the cone at the floor with the clearance designed in. Wedge tapers on the rear panel so the cabinet sits flush against a seat back.

Which Arc Audio Do You Have?

Start from the model, then the space, then the orientation.

SW series, the shallow line

Chosen when depth is the binding constraint. The cabinet has to respect the same constraint, which is why these are largely Micro Series builds rather than standard cabinets with a shallow driver dropped in.

A-series, ARC series and X2 V2

Standard-depth drivers that get Performance Optimized and Performance cabinets cut to their published alignments. The X2 V2 builds are the loaded wedge systems.

Then measure the opening

With the trim in place rather than off a drawing. A down-fire cabinet needs its feet clearance counted in the total height, and a wedge needs the depth at its deepest point. External dimensions are on every product page.

Some Ship Loaded, Some Ship Bare

Some of these cabinets arrive with the matching Arc Audio driver already mounted and wired, which removes the matching problem entirely. The rest are cut for a driver you already own. We stock Arc Audio subwoofers separately as well, so either route works.

SW Is Shallow, the Rest Are Not

Arc Audio's SW series is the shallow-mount line and it exists for spaces that will not take a standard driver. The A-series, ARC series and X2 V2 are standard-depth. They are not interchangeable in a cabinet: the parameters and the mounting depth both differ, so the box is cut differently for each.

Shallow, Standard and Loaded

Micro Series and Performance Optimized split the catalogue almost evenly, with a few Performance cabinets alongside them. Orientation is split too, across standard front-firing, down-fire and wedge. Everything here is sealed, and every sealed cabinet we build ships with polyfill already installed.

A good share come loaded with the Arc driver, which is the simplest route if you have not bought the subwoofer yet. The rest ship bare for a driver you already own.

Arc Audio Subwoofer Box Questions

Which Arc Audio subwoofers do these boxes fit?

The cabinets here are cut for Arc Audio's SW shallow-mount series, the A-series, the ARC series and X2 V2, in 10 and 12 inch. Each product page names the exact model it was designed around. Match the model number rather than just the driver size.

Do you sell Arc Audio subwoofers too?

Yes. We stock Arc Audio subwoofers and amplifiers alongside these enclosures, so you can buy the driver and the box together or separately. Some of the cabinets here already come loaded with the matching Arc driver.

Should I buy the box loaded or bare?

Loaded is simpler and guarantees the driver and cabinet are matched. Bare makes sense if you already own the driver, or if you want to move an existing Arc subwoofer into a cabinet that actually fits it. The same cabinets are offered both ways.

Can I put an SW driver in a box cut for an A-series?

No. The shallow SW motor and the standard-depth A-series motor have different published parameters and different mounting depths, so the cabinets differ in volume and in baffle. Using the wrong one costs output and can cause a clearance problem.

Are these sealed or ported?

Every one is sealed, and every sealed cabinet we build ships with polyfill already installed. If you want a ported cabinet for an Arc driver, contact us and we will tell you what we can cut.

What is the difference between Micro, Performance Optimized and Performance?

Micro Series cabinets are the shallow-space builds, for openings a standard cabinet will not fit. Performance Optimized cabinets are cut to one driver on a 1.5 inch double baffle. Performance cabinets use a universal cutout on a single 3/4 inch baffle at the lowest entry point.
