Prodigy ladders its subwoofers and the enclosures follow. The NB2 sits at the entry, the NB3 is the shallow mount option, and the NB5 is the flagship. Each gets a different cabinet because each wants something different.

NB2

A Performance Optimized wedge style ported enclosure, available bare or loaded with the NB2 10 at $289.99 in grey trunkliner or $299.99 in plush black. The wedge profile lets it sit against a seat back rather than standing square in a cargo area.

NB3

A sealed Micro Series build loaded with the NB3 at $299.99. The NB3 is Prodigy's shallow line, so it gets a stack fabricated cabinet that keeps the external footprint down rather than a scaled down standard box.

NB5

A Professional Series ported enclosure for the 15 inch NB5. Bare at $759.99 or loaded at $1,199.99, in D2 or D4, with a choice of acrylic baffle insert. Professional Series because the NB5 is the flagship driver and the cabinet is built to match.

Which Enclosure for Which Driver

They are not interchangeable. The NB2, NB3 and NB5 call for different net volumes, and the NB3 additionally needs a shallow cabinet to be worth choosing at all. Check the model on your driver before ordering rather than assuming a Prodigy box is a Prodigy box.

If you are still choosing a driver, the deciding question is usually space rather than budget. If your mounting depth is fixed by the vehicle, the NB3 is the one that fits. If you have the room and want the most from the install, the NB5 in a Professional Series ported cabinet is the top of the range.

How These Are Built

Langboard Elite MDF, CNC cut on ShopSabre routers in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Internally braced, prewired to a Proline X ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup with stainless steel hardware. Sealed variants ship with polyfill installed.

Warranty follows the series. The NB5 Professional Series enclosure and the NB3 Micro Series build carry a 2 year limited warranty. The NB2 Performance Optimized wedge carries 1 year.

Can I use the NB2 box for an NB5?

No. They call for different net volumes and the NB5 gets a Professional Series cabinet for that reason. Order the box built for the model you own.

Which Prodigy drivers come in 2 ohm?

Only the NB5. The NB2 and NB3 are D4 only. If you are planning a wiring configuration around a 2 ohm coil, the NB5 is the driver that supports it.

What is the NB3 for?

It is the shallow mount line, for installs where mounting depth is fixed by the vehicle. Behind a seat, under a seat, anywhere a conventional driver will not physically fit.

Why is the NB2 enclosure a wedge?

The taper lets it sit tight against a rear seat back or bulkhead rather than standing square in a cargo area, which recovers usable space. It also keeps the baffle off parallel with the rear glass.

What are the acrylic options on the NB5 enclosure?

None, standard, or hex and flag. They are laser cut in house and are cosmetic rather than acoustic, so choose on appearance.

Do I need an amplifier?

Yes. These are passive enclosures with no amplification built in. For a single subwoofer a monoblock matched to your final impedance is the standard approach.
