Prodigy Audio Subwoofer Boxes and Enclosures

Sealed and ported enclosures cut for Prodigy Audio NB2, NB3 and NB5 subwoofers, CNC-machined in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Proline X subwoofer enclosures built for Prodigy Audio subwoofers.

Cut for Prodigy NB2, NB3 and NB5

Subwoofer boxes and enclosures cut for Prodigy Audio NB2, NB3 and NB5 subwoofers, from 8 to 15 inch. Every cabinet names the exact driver it was built around, sealed or ported, as a wedge, a down-fire, a wide SUV cabinet or a Professional Series build, and the NB3 boxes are cut for its shallow mounting depth. We stock the Prodigy drivers too, so you can buy the box and the subwoofer together or order a cabinet for the driver you already own.

37 Prodigy Audio enclosures for the NB2, NB3 and NB5, 8 to 15 inch, sealed and ported, including one loaded NB3 system.

Cut, assembled and finished in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to the parameters Prodigy Audio publishes for each driver.

Driver parameters are taken from Prodigy Audio published data. We stock Prodigy Audio subwoofers and cut enclosures to those figures.

NB2, NB3 and NB5: Three Lines, Three Sets of Cabinets

The three Prodigy lines publish different parameters, so a 10 inch box cut for the NB2 is not the right box for an NB3-10 or an NB5-10. Each listing names its driver. Match that model, not the diameter.

NB2

The widest spread on the page, in 8, 10 and 12 inch. Sealed down-fire cabinets in standard and wide footprints, ported wedges and ported down-fires tuned between 32.5 and 35 Hz, and triple and quad wide wedges for full-size SUV cargo floors.

NB3

The NB3 is the shallow line, and its cabinets are cut for it. The standard sealed down-fire for the NB3-10 is 6.25 inches tall, and the wide dual 10 down-fire is under 6 inches. Ported wedges and down-fires are tuned between 35 and 40 Hz, and the 10 inch triple and quad wide wedges taper to just over 4 inches deep at the top. A 10 inch sealed cabinet also ships as a complete loaded system with the NB3 installed.

NB5

Sealed Performance Optimized wedges for the NB5-10 and NB5-12 in single and dual, a sealed wedge for the NB5-15, a Professional Series ported cabinet for the NB5-15 tuned to 33 Hz, and a quad wide wedge for the NB5-8.

How These Are Built

Langboard Elite MDF, CNC cut in Tullahoma, Tennessee, prewired to a Proline X ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup, and covered by a 2 year limited warranty on craftsmanship and materials.

Shop the drivers in our Prodigy Audio collection, browse the wider range at the subwoofer box hub, or see every brand we cut enclosures for on the subwoofer boxes by brand page.

How to Choose a Prodigy Audio Box

Start from the line and the size

Read the model on the driver, NB2, NB3 or NB5, then the diameter. Open that model in the directory above to see every box cut for it.

Sealed or ported

Sealed cabinets are smaller and tighter and ship with polyfill installed. The ported cabinets on this page are tuned between 32.5 and 40 Hz and play louder around that point, but take more space and more amplifier.

Standard, wide or multi-driver

Wide down-fires spread a single or dual driver across a 41 inch footprint to keep the height down. Triple and quad wide wedges are 40 to 44 inches wide for full-size SUV cargo floors. Plan the wiring and confirm your amplifier is stable at the final impedance it produces.

Buying the driver too?

We stock Prodigy NB2, NB3 and NB5 subwoofers, so you can order the matching driver with the box, or take the loaded NB3 system with the driver already mounted and wired.

Measure Before You Order

Outside dimensions on this page run from 14.75" W x 12.5" H x 14.25" D, tapering to 9.75" for the single wedge sealed cut for the NB5-10, up to 44" W x 17" H x 17.63" D, tapering to 11.44" for the triple wedge wide sealed cut for the NB2-12. Every listing states its own figures, so check them against the space with the trim in place.

Wedges

Wedge depth is given at the base and at the top. Measure the floor depth with the seat back in the position you drive with, not folded forward.

Down-fire clearance

Down-fire dimensions are taken in the down-fire position and exclude the feet or standoffs, which set the gap between cone and floor. The ported down-fires stand 9.5 inches tall on their feet. Measure with weight on the carpet because it compresses.

Quick Reference: Prodigy Audio Coverage

NB2: 8, 10 and 12 inch

NB3 (shallow): 10 and 12 inch, plus a loaded 10 inch system

NB5: 8, 10, 12 and 15 inch

The Line Matters as Much as the Size

An NB2-10, an NB3-10 and an NB5-10 each get their own cabinet. Order the box that names the model printed on your driver, not just its diameter.

Sealed, Ported, and Every Orientation

Most of the range is sealed, with a ported option for the builds that call for it. Wedge, down-fire and standard front-firing are all represented, so the orientation can follow the install rather than limiting it.

Performance Optimized covers most of the range on a 1.5 inch double baffle, with a Professional Series build at the top. Every sealed cabinet ships with polyfill installed.

Driver-matched

Performance Optimized Series

8 to 15 inch

Most of the Prodigy range. Cut to one driver on a 1.5 inch double baffle, in wedge, down-fire and standard forms.

Cut to one driver

Heavier build

Professional Series

Fifteen inch

More baffle and bracing for the build at the top of the range, where the driver justifies the extra cabinet.

Cut to one driver

Ready to install

Loaded systems

NB3, 10 inch

Complete builds with the Prodigy driver already mounted and wired, which removes the matching question entirely.

Driver included

Baffle thickness and construction method vary by series. Each product page states how that cabinet is built and which Prodigy Audio model it was cut for.

Prodigy Audio Subwoofer Box Questions

Which Prodigy Audio subwoofers do these boxes fit?

The NB2 in 8, 10 and 12 inch, the shallow NB3 in 10 and 12 inch, and the NB5 in 8, 10, 12 and 15 inch. Each listing names the exact driver it was cut for.

Can I put an NB3 in a box cut for the NB2?

Order the box cut for the line you own. The lines publish different parameters and the NB3 is a shallow driver, so its cabinets differ in net volume and in height.

Do you sell Prodigy Audio subwoofers too?

Yes. We stock the NB2, NB3 and NB5 lines, so you can buy the driver and the box together. A 10 inch sealed NB3 cabinet also ships as a loaded system with the driver installed.

Should I choose sealed or ported?

Sealed is smaller and tighter and needs less power. Ported plays louder around its tuning frequency, 32.5 to 40 Hz on this page, but takes more space and more amplifier.

Do the sealed boxes come with polyfill?

Yes. Every sealed cabinet ships with polyfill installed. The ported cabinets ship without it.

What is the shallowest Prodigy box you build?

The dual 10 inch wide down-fire for the NB3, at 5.94 inches tall measured in the down-fire position, excluding the standoffs.
