Enclosures cut for the Musway MG subwoofer line, the MG8, MG10 and MG12. Every cabinet is built around one named driver in sealed or ported form, as a wedge or a down-fire, single or dual. Pick your driver size, then the shape that fits your space.

Built Around the Musway MG Line

The MG8, MG10 and MG12 each have their own published parameters, so each gets its own cabinet volume. Nothing on this page is a generic box with a Musway name on it.

Sealed

Sealed wedge and sealed down-fire cabinets for the MG10 and MG12 in single and dual, and dual cabinets for the MG8. Every sealed cabinet ships with polyfill installed.

Ported

Ported down-fire and ported wedge cabinets for the MG10 and MG12, plus a dual ported wedge for the MG10. Tuning is stated on each listing.

Wedge or Down-Fire

A wedge sits flat on the floor with its angled face toward the rear, which suits trunks and cargo areas against the back of a seat. A down-fire puts the cone toward the floor and keeps the overall height low. Measure the space with the trim in place and compare it to the external dimensions on the product page.

Langboard Elite MDF, CNC cut in Tullahoma, Tennessee, prewired to a Proline X ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup, and covered by a 2 year limited warranty on craftsmanship and materials.

How to Choose a Musway Box

Start from the model number, not the size

Two Musway drivers of the same diameter rarely want the same cabinet. Read the model on the magnet or the label, then open that model in the directory above. Every box listed under it was cut to that driver's published parameters.

Sealed or ported

Sealed cabinets are smaller, tighter and need less power, and every one ships with polyfill installed. Ported cabinets play louder around their tuning frequency, which on this page runs from 33 to 35 Hz, but take more space and more amplifier.

Single and dual

Multi-driver cabinets take two or more of the same model. Plan the wiring before you order and confirm your amplifier is stable at the final impedance it produces.

Pick the cabinet style that suits the vehicle

A wedge sits against the rear seat on a trunk or cargo floor and angles the driver up into the cabin. A down-fire aims the cone at the floor for a lower overall height and keeps cargo off the cone. It needs a flat, solid floor.

Measure Before You Order

Outside dimensions on this page run from 21.67" W x 11" H x 11.69" D, tapering to 7.68" for the dual wedge sealed cut for the MG8, up to 32.00" W x 16" H x 17.66" D, tapering to 11.84" for the dual wedge sealed cut for the MG12. Every listing states its own figures, so check them against the space with the trim in place.

Wedges

Wedge depth is given at the base and at the top. Measure the floor depth with the seat back in the position you drive with, not folded forward.

Down-fire clearance

Down-fire dimensions are taken in the down-fire position and exclude the feet or standoffs, which set the gap between cone and floor. Measure with weight on the carpet because it compresses, and allow for anything that sits above the cabinet.

Musway Subwoofer Box Questions

Which Musway subwoofers do these boxes fit?

The Musway MG8, MG10 and MG12. Each listing names the exact driver it was cut for.

Can I use a different 10 or 12 inch subwoofer in these?

Not reliably. Each cabinet is cut to the MG driver named on the listing, so another driver may not mount correctly and will sit outside its intended alignment. Call us with the model and we will tell you what fits.

Should I choose sealed or ported?

Sealed is smaller and tighter and needs less power. Ported plays louder around its tuning frequency but takes more space and more amplifier.

Do the sealed boxes come with polyfill?

Yes. Every sealed cabinet ships with polyfill installed. The ported cabinets ship without it.
