Which Version Do You Have

Check the model number on the frame or the badge on the motor before ordering. If you are unsure, send us a photo and we will tell you which baffle you need. Getting this wrong means a driver that either will not drop in or will not seal properly against the baffle, and neither is worth the return shipping.

Not Listed? We Cut to Spec

Sundown builds a deep catalogue and we do not have a listing for every driver in it. That is a catalogue gap rather than a capability gap. We run the routers ourselves in Tullahoma, and we have built for the SA and X Series before.

What we need from you is the exact model, the alignment you want, and the space you have. Sealed or ported, single or dual, and the maximum external dimensions the vehicle will take. From there we calculate net volume from the driver's published Thiele Small parameters and cut a cabinet to suit rather than selling you the nearest thing on a shelf.

Note that we build enclosures for Sundown drivers but do not stock the drivers themselves. You supply the sub, we supply the box.

How These Are Built

Langboard Elite 3/4 inch MDF, CNC cut on ShopSabre routers in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Internally braced and prewired to a Proline X ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup with stainless steel hardware. Professional Series enclosures carry a 2 year limited warranty on craftsmanship and materials.

Frequently Asked Sundown Enclosure Questions

Do you sell Sundown subwoofers?

No. We build enclosures for them but we do not stock the drivers. Enclosure fitment is a matter of geometry and Thiele Small parameters, and is separate from which brands we carry.

Which SA 12 version do I have?

The model number is on the frame and the badge on the motor identifies the revision. If you cannot tell, send us a photo and we will identify it. The baffle cutout differs between versions, so ordering the wrong one means the driver will not seat correctly.

Can you build for the X Series or other Sundown drivers?

Yes. We have built for the SA and X Series before and can cut for other models. Give us the exact driver, the alignment you want and your maximum external dimensions, and we will quote it.

Sealed or ported for a Sundown driver?

Divide the driver's free air resonance by its electrical Q to get the efficiency bandwidth product. Below 50 generally suits sealed, above 100 favors ported, and 50 to 100 works either way. Most Sundown drivers land in territory where ported makes sense, but run the numbers on your specific model rather than assuming.

What is the lead time on a custom build?

Every Proline X enclosure is cut to order rather than pulled from a shelf, including the listed ones. A one off adds design time on top of that. Call and we will give you a realistic date rather than an optimistic one.

What is the warranty?

Professional Series enclosures carry a 2 year limited warranty on craftsmanship and materials. The Sundown driver carries its own manufacturer warranty separately, and you would claim that through Sundown rather than through us.
