Down-Fire, Sealed, Driver-Matched

Morel Subwoofer Boxes and Enclosures

Sealed down-fire enclosures cut for Morel Ultimo subwoofers, CNC-machined in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Proline X subwoofer enclosures built for Morel subwoofers.

Down-Fire, Sealed, Driver-Matched

Morel builds two very different Ultimo subwoofers in the same nominal sizes: a slim line designed to fit where depth is scarce, and a reference line built for outright sound quality. They do not want the same enclosure, and the cabinets here are cut accordingly.

Ten and twelve inch, single and dual, all sealed down-fire builds machined in Tullahoma, Tennessee to each driver's published parameters.

Sealed down-fire Morel enclosures in ten and twelve inch, single and dual, cut for both the slim-format and reference Ultimo lines.

Cut, assembled and finished in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to the parameters Morel publishes for each driver.

Driver parameters are taken from Morel published data. We build enclosures to those figures; we do not currently stock Morel drivers and make no claim to represent the brand.

Morel Enclosures by Size and Configuration

Every cabinet is a sealed down-fire build cut to one specific Ultimo model, across both the slim and reference lines. Match the model on the product page.

Shared across every row: Langboard Elite MDF cut on ShopSabre routers in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Plush black carpet. A Proline X ABS and carbon fibre composite terminal cup with stainless hardware, pre-wired in 12-gauge OFC. Construction method varies by series and is stated on each product page.

Two Lines, One Diameter, Different Cabinets

A slim-format driver and a reference driver of the same stated size are not interchangeable in an enclosure. Their published parameters differ, their mounting depth differs, and the cabinet volume that suits one will not suit the other.

This is why the cabinets are cut per model rather than per size. Ordering "a twelve inch Morel box" is not a specification; ordering the cabinet cut for your exact Ultimo model is.

How to Choose

Start from the Ultimo model, not the size

Slim or reference changes the cabinet completely, and both are offered at ten and twelve inch.

Single or dual

A dual is not two singles joined together. Each chamber is cut tighter than the same driver gets alone so the cabinet still fits the same space.

Confirm the floor suits down-fire

Flat and solid. If your cargo area is ribbed plastic or a lift-out panel, look at a standard front-firing cabinet instead.

Then source the driver

We do not sell Morel drivers. These cabinets are cut for a subwoofer you already own or buy from a Morel dealer.

Depth, Clearance and the Exact Ultimo

Identify which Ultimo line you have

The slim line and the reference line are both Ultimo and both come in these diameters. They need different cabinets. The model number on the driver is the only reliable way to tell which one you are ordering for.

Then the floor clearance

These are down-fire cabinets, so the feet set the gap between cone and floor. Measure with weight in the box because carpet compresses, and make sure the floor is flat and solid rather than a ribbed tray.

Then total height

Cabinet plus feet has to clear whatever sits above. Under a fold-flat seat, measure to the seat back at its lowest position.

Slim and Reference Are Not the Same Driver

Morel offers both an explicitly slim-format Ultimo and a reference Ultimo at these diameters. Their parameters and their mounting depths differ, so the cabinets do too. The model number on the driver is what decides which enclosure you need.

We Cut the Box, You Source the Driver

We do not sell Morel drivers and we do not represent the brand. Every cabinet here is built to the figures Morel publishes for a subwoofer you already own or buy elsewhere.

Sealed, Down-Fire, Driver-Matched

Every Morel cabinet here is a down-fire build on the Performance Optimized standard: a 1.5 inch double baffle cut to one driver, with feet that set the floor clearance deliberately.

All sealed, all shipped with polyfill installed, in single and dual across ten and twelve inch. Down-fire suits both Ultimo lines because it protects the cone and uses the floor as part of the load.

Driver-matched

Performance Optimized Series

Every cabinet

The build standard across the Morel range: a 1.5 inch double baffle cut to one driver's published alignment.

Cut to one driver

Where depth is scarce

Slim-line cabinets

Ten and twelve inch

Cut for the slim-format Ultimo, which exists because the install would not take a standard-depth driver in the first place.

Sealed

Where quality leads

Reference-line cabinets

Ten and twelve inch

Cut for the reference Ultimo, where the driver is the centrepiece and the cabinet has to stay out of its way.

Sealed

Baffle thickness and construction method vary by series. Each product page states how that cabinet is built and which Morel model it was cut for.

Morel Subwoofer Box Questions

Which Morel subwoofers do these boxes fit?

The cabinets here are cut for Morel Ultimo subwoofers in ten and twelve inch, covering both the slim-format line and the reference line. Each product page names the exact model it was designed around, and that is the match to work from rather than the diameter.

Do you sell Morel subwoofers?

No. We build the enclosure, cut to the parameters Morel publishes, and you source the driver. We do not sell Morel drivers or represent the brand.

Can I use a slim Ultimo in a box cut for the reference model?

You should not. The two have different published parameters and different mounting depths even at the same stated diameter, so the cabinets differ in volume and in the baffle. Using the wrong one gives up the performance the driver is capable of and can cause a clearance problem.

Why are these all down-fire?

Because the orientation suits both Ultimo lines: it aims the cone at the floor so the floor becomes part of the acoustic load, and it keeps the cone where cargo cannot reach it. The clearance is designed in, on feet that set the gap rather than leaving it to the carpet.

Are these sealed or ported?

All sealed, and every one ships with polyfill already installed. A sealed alignment suits these drivers and preserves the control they are chosen for.

Can you cut a Morel enclosure in a size you do not list?

Possibly. Everything is CNC-cut to order in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Contact us with the exact Ultimo model and the space you have and we will tell you whether we can build it.
