Hertz Mille Pro subwoofers are built to work in tight, shallow installs, and every cabinet on this page is cut as a down-fire enclosure to suit that. The cone aims at the vehicle floor, the floor becomes part of the acoustic load, and the clearance underneath is designed in rather than improvised.

Hertz Enclosures by Size and Configuration

Every cabinet is a sealed down-fire build cut to one specific Mille Pro model. Use this for the shape of the range, then match the model named on the product page.

Same Size, Different Cabinet

This range covers two variants of the Mille Pro line at the same nominal sizes. They are not interchangeable in an enclosure: the published parameters differ, so the net volume and the baffle cutout are cut differently even though both are described as the same number of inches.

That is the single most useful thing to know before you order. Working from "a twelve inch Hertz" will get you the wrong cabinet half the time. Working from the exact model on the driver gets you the right one every time.

How to Choose

Read the model number off the driver

Not the box it came in and not the size alone. The variant matters as much as the diameter here.

Ten or twelve inch, single or dual

A dual is not two singles joined together. Each chamber is cut tighter than the same driver gets on its own, because the cabinet still has to fit the same space.

Check the floor the box will sit on

Down-fire needs a flat, solid surface. If your cargo area is ribbed plastic or a lift-out panel, a standard front-firing cabinet from another part of the catalogue will serve you better.

Then source the driver

We do not sell Hertz drivers. These cabinets are cut for a subwoofer you already own or buy from a Hertz dealer.

Clearance, Height and the Exact Model

The floor gap is designed, not left to chance

The feet set it. Plush carpet compresses under a loaded cabinet, so measure with weight in it rather than a tape on bare pile, and make sure the floor is flat and solid. A ribbed cargo tray or a spare-wheel lid will flex and rattle, and neither gives you the boundary the orientation was chosen for.

Total height includes the feet

Cabinet height plus feet has to clear whatever sits above it. On a fold-flat seat, measure to the seat back at its lowest position rather than its highest.

Then confirm the exact model

MP and MPS at the same nominal size want different cabinets. The product page names the model it was cut for, and that is the match to work from.

The Variant Matters as Much as the Size

This range covers more than one Mille Pro variant at the same nominal diameter, and they take different cabinets. Published parameters differ, so net volume and the baffle cutout differ with them. Read the model off the driver rather than ordering by inches.

We Cut the Box, You Source the Driver

We do not sell Hertz drivers and we do not represent the brand. Every cabinet here is built to the figures Hertz publishes for a subwoofer you already own or buy elsewhere. Nothing about the fit depends on where the driver came from.

Down-Fire Throughout

Every Hertz cabinet we cut is a down-fire build on the Performance Optimized standard: a 1.5 inch double baffle, cut to one driver, with feet that set the floor gap deliberately rather than leaving it to the carpet.

All sealed, and all shipped with polyfill already installed. Single and dual configurations are both available in ten and twelve inch.

Which Hertz subwoofers do these boxes fit?

The cabinets here are cut for Hertz Mille Pro subwoofers in ten and twelve inch. The line has more than one variant at each size and they need different enclosures, so each product page names the exact model it was designed around. Match that rather than the diameter.

Do you sell Hertz subwoofers?

No. We build the enclosure, cut to the parameters Hertz publishes, and you source the driver. We do not sell Hertz drivers or represent the brand.

Why is every Hertz cabinet down-fire?

Because it suits these drivers and the installs they typically go into. A down-fire cabinet aims the cone at the floor, which makes the floor part of the acoustic load and keeps the cone protected from cargo. The trade is that the clearance has to be designed in, which is exactly what the feet do.

What floor does a down-fire box need?

Flat and solid. A ribbed plastic cargo tray or a spare-wheel lid will flex under the cabinet and rattle, and neither gives you the boundary loading the orientation was chosen for. Measure the clearance with weight in the box, because carpet compresses.

Are these sealed or ported?

All sealed, and every one ships with polyfill already installed. The fill is part of how the cabinet was tuned rather than an accessory, so do not remove it.

Can you cut a Hertz enclosure in a size you do not list?
