Arc Audio X2V2 Series Subwoofers
Efficiency, dynamics, and serious output in a 10. The X2V2 is built around the thermal headroom to use every watt you put into it, day in and day out.
The Arc Audio X2V2 10 inch subwoofer is rated at 200 watts RMS continuous and 400 watts maximum, with a recommended amplifier power range of 5 to 400 watts. Arc Audio's approach to the power rating is worth understanding: they tested by doubling the test power level after each successful round to find actual failure points and address them, rather than rating at what a driver survives for a short burst.
The result is a 10 inch driver that genuinely handles its rated wattage for extended use without voice coil degradation, which is what allows the X2V2 to deliver its sensitivity and output advantage over long listening sessions. At 85 dB and with 13.5mm of one-way linear excursion, it fills an enclosure and a cabin the way a 10 should.
Every thermal challenge this driver faces has a deliberate engineering answer. A two-inch diameter copper-coated aluminum voice coil on a Kapton former dissipates heat efficiently while keeping moving mass low, and the coil is anodized black to improve radiative heat extraction. The four-spoke stamped steel basket features eight integrated vents to exhaust hot air from the motor assembly, and those same vents prevent pressure buildup under the spider, which directly improves linearity at high excursion. A secondary vent through the center of the T-Yoke releases pressure from under the dust cap and cools the motor further.
The double-stacked magnet assembly gives the X2V2 the magnetic field intensity needed for efficient motor force, which translates to dynamic output and damping without requiring a massive power supply to get there.
The cone uses reinforced pulp paper with a moisture-resistant coating for reliable performance in high-humidity conditions. The large-diameter rubber surround eliminates the most common failure point in subwoofers by replacing foam, which deteriorates with age and environment, with a material that holds its compliance for the life of the driver. The high-roll Conex spider has tinsel leads woven directly into it, eliminating the bare lead designs that can cause cone slap or short circuits.
As with the rest of the X2V2 line, the 10 is available in dual 2-ohm (D2) and dual 4-ohm (D4) configurations. The D2 wires to 1 ohm or 4 ohms, the D4 wires to 2 ohms or 8 ohms. Match the coil to where your amplifier is most stable and most efficient. The T/S parameters differ slightly between variants, so pick the voice coil first and build the enclosure and amplifier choice around it.
Fitment at a glance: mounting depth 5.91 inches, cutout 8.98 inches, outside diameter 10.23 inches, displacement 0.03 cu ft. Recommended sealed volume is 0.65 to 1.0 cubic feet. Confirm your cutout, depth, and box space before ordering.

Using Arc Audio's published Thiele-Small parameters and their recommended sealed volumes, here are the predicted Qtc, system resonance (Fc), F3 rolloff, and frequency response for each box size. Calculated using the same formulas as the Audio Intensity Sealed Box Calculator.
The X2V2 10 is a high-Qts driver, which produces a different sealed character than a low-Qts SQ driver. Elevated Qtc values mean more midbass presence and impact rather than a flat Butterworth response. The payoff is an F3 in the mid-to-upper 30 Hz range: genuine deep bass extension from a 10 inch driver in a moderate-sized box.

What the numbers mean: A Qtc near 0.707 is textbook Butterworth (flattest sealed response). The X2V2 10 runs higher than that across all volumes by design. Qtc in the 0.85 to 1.0 range produces warm, full-sounding bass with a gentle midbass lift. Qtc above 1.0 adds a more pronounced midbass peak with added punch. The F3 in the 36 to 39 Hz range is excellent for a 10 inch driver in a moderate-sized box, and vehicle cabin gain below 80 Hz typically adds 6 to 12 dB in practice. Run your own numbers in the Sealed Box Calculator.
