Why an enclosure cut to the vehicle beats a universal box, how behind-seat builds are constructed, and which platforms we cut for.

Why Vehicle Specific Beats a Universal Box

A universal enclosure is designed to the driver and then has to find somewhere to live. A vehicle specific enclosure is designed to the space first, then to the driver inside the volume that space allows. In a truck cab or a cargo well, that difference decides whether the box fits at all.

The constraint is rarely the driver. It is the seat travel, the rear wall angle, the hump in the floor pan and the tie-down points. Those are fixed, and a cabinet cut to them recovers volume a rectangular box wastes.

Behind-Seat Builds

Behind-seat enclosures work in the space between the rear wall and the seat back. The usable depth is often under 8 inches, so the cabinet is wide and shallow and the baffle angle matters as much as the volume.

Vehicle Specific cabinets are stack-fab construction with dowel reinforcement, cut from Langboard Elite 3/4 inch MDF on our ShopSabre routers, with 8/32 threaded inserts on the backside of the baffle for machine screw mounting. They carry a 2-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase.

Platforms We Cut For

Coverage follows the cut file. Where a platform is listed, the cabinet has been designed and cut for that specific vehicle rather than adapted to it.

If Your Vehicle Is Not Listed

Ask. The catalogue reflects the cut files that exist today, and the list grows. Send the year, model and cab configuration along with the driver you intend to run, and we will tell you whether a cabinet exists, whether one is close enough to adapt, or whether a universal sealed cabinet is the better answer for that vehicle.

Need a Second Opinion on Your Build?

We build the enclosures here in Tullahoma and compete in SQ, so the answer comes from someone who has cut the panels and tuned the car. Send us the driver, the amplifier and the vehicle and we will tell you what actually fits.
