What is the difference between the R2-W and the RS-W?

The R2-W is Alpine's full-depth Type R subwoofer; the RS-W is the shallow R-Series version for tight spaces. Their mounting depth and parameters differ, so the R2-W boxes here are wedges and the RS-W boxes are shallow down fires and Micro sealed cabinets.
