INSTALLER'S TAKE

The thinPRO 10 is not a typical shallow-mount driver. At 750 watts RMS from 2.9 inches of mounting depth, it generates internal pressure levels that most compact enclosures are simply not built to handle structurally. The stack-fab construction on the M10-S WAV exists specifically to address that. Panel mass in a 4.5-inch-deep box is a real constraint — you have limited wall width to work with, which means resonance control has to come from density and joint integrity rather than geometry alone.

The downfiring option is underutilized on this platform. In extended cab and crew cab truck installs, placing the M10-S WAV behind the seat in downfire orientation couples the driver output directly to the floor, which acts as a large-area radiating surface. The perceived bass response in the cabin is often fuller and more evenly distributed than front-firing placement against a wall. The rubber feet are included in the box — no additional hardware or mounts required to run it this way.

The threaded inserts and included stainless square-bit screws are a feature that matters more than most product listings acknowledge. A 750-watt driver generates sustained vibration at the baffle interface. Wood screws in MDF will loosen over a season of regular use. The threaded insert system holds torque consistently across repeated cycles. If you ever need to pull the driver for service or impedance swap, the mount is as solid on reinstall as it was on first installation.

Micro Series | M10-S WAV | Enclosure Only

4.5 Inches Deep.
Built for the Wavtech thinPRO 10.

The Wavtech thinPRO 10 runs 2.9 inches of mounting depth and 750 watts RMS — an output class that most shallow-mount enclosures are not built to handle structurally. The Proline X M10-S WAV is. Stack-fab Langboard Elite construction, 8/32 threaded inserts, and a sealed 0.4 cubic foot chamber deliver what the thinPRO 10 needs: a rigid, correctly-sized acoustic environment in a box that fits where full-depth enclosures cannot go.

0.40 Cu Ft Net Volume
4.5" Total Depth
2.9" Max Mount Depth
750W Driver RMS Rating
Enclosure only. The Wavtech thinPRO 10 subwoofer is not included. This enclosure is designed for customers who already own or are separately purchasing the thinPRO10-2 or thinPRO10-4. Both impedance variants fit — the cutout and mounting geometry are identical.

0.4 Cubic Feet — Within Spec, Intentionally Sized

Wavtech publishes a sealed volume sweet spot of 0.35 cubic feet for the thinPRO 10, with an acceptable range of 0.25–0.80 cubic feet. The M10-S WAV delivers 0.4 cubic feet of net internal volume — slightly above the sweet spot, which shifts the system Qtc modestly lower and extends low-frequency output at the cost of a small amount of upper-bass damping. For most vehicle installs, particularly those where the enclosure is placed near a cabin boundary (under a seat, against a firewall, or floor-coupled in downfire orientation), this is the better-performing side of that tradeoff.

Internal volume is held to tolerance after accounting for driver displacement and stack-fab panel mass. The 0.4 figure is net — not gross box volume before subtracting hardware and baffle thickness. That distinction matters more in compact enclosures than anywhere else, because displacement represents a larger percentage of total internal space at smaller volumes.

Stack-Fab at 4.5 Inches — Structure Is the Constraint

At 4.5 inches of total depth, there is limited panel width available for rigidity. A flat single-panel wall at this depth has measurably less resistance to flex than the same wall at 7 or 8 inches of depth. Stack-fab construction addresses this directly — CNC-cut Langboard Elite MDF panels are layered and bonded in overlapping orientations, building up panel mass and eliminating single-layer joints at the critical walls. The result is a high-mass structure that does not flex at resonance frequencies even at the 750-watt RMS power levels the thinPRO 10 is capable of pulling.

Every joint is CNC-machined to a dado fit before adhesive is applied. The mechanical interlock holds panel alignment under load. The adhesive seals permanently. Both together — neither alone — produce the airtight, acoustically inert enclosure this driver requires to perform at its rated spec.

Volume

0.4 cu ft — Net Internal, Tolerance-Held

Wavtech's acceptable sealed range for the thinPRO 10 is 0.25–0.80 cubic feet. The M10-S WAV lands at 0.4 cubic feet net — calculated after panel displacement, hardware, and baffle thickness are subtracted. Not approximated from external dimensions.

Depth

4.5" Total — 2.9" Driver Clearance with Margin

The thinPRO 10 requires 2.9" of mounting depth. The M10-S WAV provides 3.1" of usable internal depth — enough for the driver's rear motor structure with clearance at full excursion. No contact risk at rated power.

Mounting

8/32 Threaded Inserts — Machine Screws Included

The baffle is fitted with 8/32 threaded inserts on the back face. Stainless 8/32 square-bit machine screws are included. The driver threads into steel — not wood. No stripping, consistent clamping force, and the driver can be removed and reinstalled without degrading the mount.

Wiring

Gold-Plated Terminal Cup — Pre-Wired from the Factory

A high-power gold-plated terminal cup is installed and pre-wired with 12-gauge speaker wire run internally to the driver location with stainless hardware. Connect your amplifier run to the terminal and mount the driver — no internal wiring work needed.

Configuration

Front-Firing or Downfiring — Feet Included

The M10-S WAV ships with rubber feet for downfiring installation. Use it front-firing in a standard orientation or flip it downward to couple bass output with the vehicle floor. Downfiring is particularly effective in truck cabs and SUVs where floor coupling produces a more distributed low-frequency response throughout the cabin.

Structure

Stack-Fab Langboard Elite — Built for 750W RMS

The thinPRO 10 is rated at 750 watts RMS — well above what most compact enclosures are built to withstand structurally. Stack-fab Langboard Elite MDF with dado joinery and rounded external corners produces a high-mass, low-resonance structure that stays inert at the power levels this driver can generate.

Acoustic

Polyfill Pre-Installed

Polyfill is packed and installed at the factory. It acoustically increases effective internal volume, extending low-frequency output without adding external size. In a 0.4 cubic foot enclosure, this is a meaningful tuning step — not a cosmetic addition. It is built into the manufacturing process, not left to the installer.

Fitment

Direct-Fit Cutout for the thinPRO 10

The baffle cutout is machined specifically for the Wavtech thinPRO 10 mounting geometry. The thinPRO 10 uses a standard round mounting flange — the cutout diameter is precision-matched to that spec. Flush-mount seating is confirmed at the factory. No shimming, trimming, or fitting required.

Ready to Mount. Ready to Wire.

The M10-S WAV ships fully prepped. The gold-plated terminal cup is installed and pre-wired to the driver location with 12-gauge wire — connect your amplifier run and that side is done. The baffle uses 8/32 threaded inserts with stainless square-bit machine screws included — driver mounts to steel, not MDF. Rubber feet are included for downfiring installations. No additional hardware required for either configuration.

Impedance Options — thinPRO10-2 and thinPRO10-4

The Wavtech thinPRO 10 is available in two impedance variants: the thinPRO10-2 (single 2-ohm voice coil) and the thinPRO10-4 (single 4-ohm voice coil). Both variants share identical physical dimensions and fit this enclosure. Choose the impedance that matches your amplifier's stable load. The thinPRO10-2 presents a 2-ohm load directly; the thinPRO10-4 presents a 4-ohm load. Neither variant requires wiring configuration — single voice coil, single connection.

Where It Fits

At 24" × 12.75" × 4.5", the M10-S WAV opens up install locations that rule out virtually every conventional sealed 10" build. Common placements:

  • Under-seat — extended cab and crew cab trucks
  • Behind-seat — full-size truck cabs (front-firing or downfire)
  • Trunk corners — compact and mid-size sedans
  • Side cargo panels — SUVs and crossovers
  • Hatch floor — sports cars and hatchbacks
  • Spare tire well — select SUV and crossover platforms

Built From a Spec Sheet, Not a Sales Sheet

Every Proline X Micro Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure — because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.

Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used across the full Proline X lineup.

Specifications

Langboard Elite MDF — Published Mill Data

Property Value Why It Matters
Panel Stock Langboard Elite MDF Named, verifiable panel source — not generic "high-density MDF"
Thickness 3/4" (18mm) Industry standard for subwoofer enclosures; panels below this flex under pressure
Density 48.5 lbs/ft³ Higher density = less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance
Internal Bond 200 psi Measures resistance to delamination under sustained internal pressure — the most enclosure-relevant spec on this sheet
Modulus of Rupture (MOR) 4,200 psi Bending strength before the panel breaks — relevant for larger unsupported baffle spans
Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) 410,000 psi Stiffness under load; higher MOE means less panel flex under bass pressure, less resonance
Face Screw Holding 325 lbs How firmly the panel surface holds a screw; critical for baffle joint integrity over time
Edge Screw Holding 250 lbs Panel edge retention — relevant for every joint that isn't face-to-face
Internal Bond

200 psi — The Number That Actually Matters for Enclosures

The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually — the symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.

Stiffness

410,000 psi MOE — Less Flex, Less Resonance

The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness — resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with stack-fab layering and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level — not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.

Screw Holding

325 lb Face / 250 lb Edge — Joints That Stay Locked

Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint — where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X Micro Series enclosure is not going anywhere.

Sourcing

Named Panel Stock — Not "Premium MDF"

The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification — it is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.
