Proline-X Micro Series Sealed Dual 12" Enclosure | Wavtech thinPRO12
Dual 12". 8" Deep.
0.60 cu ft Per Chamber.
Two Wavtech thinPRO 12 drivers. Two isolated sealed chambers. Each chamber holds exactly 0.60 cubic feet — Wavtech's published optimal sealed volume for this driver. The M12D-S WAV delivers dual 12" output in 8 inches of total depth. A conventional dual 12" sealed box at this volume runs 14–18 inches deep. This one fits behind the seat of a full-size truck.
0.60 cu ft Per Chamber — Calculated Per Driver, Not Split From a Single Box
Running two thinPRO 12 drivers in a shared enclosure is not the same as doubling a single-driver box. Each driver needs its own isolated airspace to load correctly. The M12D-S WAV uses a dual-chamber construction — each driver occupies a fully sealed, acoustically isolated 0.60 cubic foot chamber. That is Wavtech's published optimal sealed volume for the thinPRO 12. Neither driver is sharing airspace with the other, and neither chamber is being compromised to hit a total volume number.
The 1.20 cubic feet total net volume is calculated after driver displacement, double-layer baffle material, and internal chamber divider are subtracted. What each driver sees is 0.60 cubic feet of net sealed airspace — the same volume a single M12-S WAV delivers, replicated twice inside one enclosure footprint.
1.5" Double-Layer Baffle — V-Groove and Dado Joinery Throughout
The front baffle is a double-layer stack-fab build — two CNC-cut Langboard Elite panels bonded to 1.5 inches total. Two thinPRO 12 drivers at 750 watts RMS each generate 1,500 watts of combined excursion load at the baffle simultaneously. A single 3/4" panel at this output level resonates. Two bonded layers do not.
The rest of the enclosure uses both V-groove and dado joinery — V-groove at the exterior panel edges for a tight, finished corner, dado slots at every interior panel intersection for a mechanical interlock before adhesive is applied. Neither joint relies on adhesive condition alone. The chamber divider wall uses the same joinery standard as the exterior panels — fully interlocked, adhesive-sealed, and CNC-cut to maintain the acoustic isolation between chambers.
Impedance Wiring — Know Before You Order
Dual Chamber — 0.60 cu ft Each, Acoustically Isolated
Each driver occupies its own fully sealed chamber at 0.60 cubic feet net — Wavtech's optimal sealed volume for the thinPRO 12. The chamber divider is CNC-cut and dado-jointed. Neither driver shares airspace with the other.
1.5" Double-Layer Stack Fab — 1,500W Combined Load
Two bonded layers of Langboard Elite 3/4" MDF at 1.5 inches total. At 1,500 watts RMS combined, the baffle is the highest-stress panel in this build. Double-layer construction eliminates the resonance a single panel would introduce at this output level.
V-Groove + Dado — Two Mechanical Systems
V-groove joinery at exterior panel edges creates tight, finished corners. Dado joinery at interior panel intersections provides a mechanical interlock at every critical joint. Both systems are adhesive-sealed. No joint relies on glue alone.
Proline X Terminal Cup — One Per Chamber
Each chamber has its own dedicated Proline X ABS/carbon fiber terminal cup with stainless steel hardware and copper ring terminals. Pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC internally. No shared terminal between drivers. Each driver connects independently to its own cup.
8/32 Threaded Inserts — Machine Screws Included
Both baffle positions are fitted with 8/32 threaded inserts. Stainless 8/32 machine screws are included for both drivers. Each thinPRO 12 threads into steel — not MDF. Consistent clamping torque, no stripping, and both drivers reinstall cleanly after any service.
8" Total — Dual 12" Where a Standard Box Cannot Go
A conventional dual 12" sealed enclosure at 1.20 cubic feet runs 14–18 inches deep. The M12D-S WAV runs 8. The thinPRO 12's 3-inch mounting depth is the only reason this geometry is possible — and this enclosure is the only dual 12" build that uses it correctly.
Front-Firing or Downfiring — Feet Included
The M12D-S WAV ships with feet for downfiring installation. Run it front-firing in a standard trunk or cargo floor orientation, or flip it to downfire to couple bass output with the vehicle floor. No additional hardware required for either configuration.
Polyfill Pre-Installed — Per Chamber
Polyfill is packed and installed in each chamber independently at the factory. Consistent density per chamber, confirmed before the enclosure ships. Factory installation removes the variable of installer-estimated packing — both chambers are acoustically matched at the polyfill stage.
Ready to Mount. Ready to Wire.
Both baffles ship with 8/32 threaded inserts and stainless machine screws included — both thinPRO 12 drivers mount to steel, not MDF. Each chamber has its own Proline X terminal cup pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC. Connect your amplifier runs to the two terminal cups, mount both drivers, and installation is complete. No internal wiring work, no hardware to source separately.
Optional Acrylic Front Panel
The M12D-S WAV is available with an optional gloss black acrylic front panel. Option B adds the Wavtech logo in white. Option C adds your custom artwork — submit your file after purchase and we will confirm before production. Option A ships without acrylic — plush black carpet face only. Select at checkout.
Where It Fits
At 29" × 15" × 8", measure your available space before ordering. The 29" width and 15" depth are the dimensions most likely to be constraints depending on your vehicle. The 8" height is what makes this viable in applications where no conventional dual 12" build would fit:
- Behind-seat — full-size crew cab and extended cab trucks
- Trunk floor — full-size sedans and wagons
- Flat cargo floor — crossovers and mid-size SUVs
- Under rear bench — SUVs and full-size vans
- Stealth cargo builds — hatchbacks and sports wagons
- High-output daily builds where depth is the primary constraint

Built From a Spec Sheet, Not a Sales Sheet
Every Proline X Micro Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure — because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.
Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used across the full Proline X lineup.
Langboard Elite MDF — Published Mill Data
| Property | Value | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Panel Stock | Langboard Elite MDF | Named, verifiable panel source — not generic "high-density MDF" |
| Thickness | 3/4" (18mm) | Industry standard for subwoofer enclosures; panels below this flex under pressure |
| Density | 48.5 lbs/ft³ | Higher density = less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance |
| Internal Bond | 200 psi | Measures resistance to delamination under sustained internal pressure — the most enclosure-relevant spec on this sheet |
| Modulus of Rupture (MOR) | 4,200 psi | Bending strength before the panel breaks — relevant for larger unsupported baffle spans |
| Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) | 410,000 psi | Stiffness under load; higher MOE means less panel flex under bass pressure, less resonance |
| Face Screw Holding | 325 lbs | How firmly the panel surface holds a screw; critical for baffle joint integrity over time |
| Edge Screw Holding | 250 lbs | Panel edge retention — relevant for every joint that isn't face-to-face |
200 psi — The Number That Actually Matters for Enclosures
The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually — the symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.
410,000 psi MOE — Less Flex, Less Resonance
The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness — resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with stack-fab layering and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level — not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
325 lb Face / 250 lb Edge — Joints That Stay Locked
Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint — where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X Micro Series enclosure is not going anywhere.
Named Panel Stock — Not "Premium MDF"
The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification — it is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.
