Proline-X Micro Series M12D-S WAV
Sealed Dual 12" Enclosure | Engineered for the Wavtech thinPRO12
The Proline-X Micro Series M12D-S WAV is a sealed dual 12" enclosure engineered specifically for the Wavtech thinPRO12. The 0.60 cubic foot per chamber sealed airspace is Wavtech's published optimal volume for this driver — not an approximation, not a general-purpose dual 12" volume. When the enclosure is built to spec, the driver performs to spec. That is the only way these two components are designed to work together.
At 29" wide and 8" deep, this enclosure makes dual 12" installs viable in spaces where a conventional box never fits. Behind the seat of a full-size truck. Flat on the cargo floor of a crossover. In any application where depth is the limiting constraint — the thinPRO12's 3" mounting depth and this enclosure's 8" total depth open configurations that a standard dual 12" build would never allow.
CNC-cut and hand-built at our Tullahoma, Tennessee facility. Dado joinery at every panel joint. Threaded inserts at the baffle face for a mounting surface that holds long-term. Plush black carpet finish standard. Optional gloss black acrylic front panel available with Wavtech logo (Option B) or custom graphics (Option C).
This listing is for the enclosure only. Wavtech thinPRO12 subwoofers are sold separately.
The thinPRO12 is not a typical shallow-mount subwoofer. At 3" mounting depth with over 2" of peak-to-peak excursion, it produces output comparable to full-depth drivers — but it requires a specific sealed airspace to do it. Build it in a generic dual 12" box and you leave performance on the table. Build it in 0.60 ft³ per chamber and you get the driver Wavtech engineered.
The M12D-S WAV exists because that specific pairing — 0.60 ft³ sealed, dual chamber, 8" total depth — does not exist as a stock product anywhere else. A conventional dual 12" sealed enclosure is 14–18" deep. This one is 8". That difference is not a compromise. It is the entire point.
Wavtech publishes 0.60 ft³ as the optimal sealed volume for the thinPRO12. This enclosure delivers that target exactly — per chamber, per driver. The result is the flat, controlled sealed response the driver was designed to produce.
A conventional dual 12" sealed enclosure requires 14–18" of depth minimum. The M12D-S WAV is 8" deep total. Behind-seat truck installs. Flat cargo floor crossover builds. The configurations this depth enables are the reason this enclosure was designed.
Sealed alignment delivers the tight transient response and predictable rolloff that ported builds cannot match. Two thinPRO12 drivers in sealed alignment produce layered, musical bass with physical impact — not a single tuning peak followed by a cliff.
The sealed 12 dB/octave rolloff responds accurately to DSP processing. Running a Goldhorn DSP or any active processor? Sealed alignment gives you full control over the final response without fighting a ported tuning peak that moves the target.
The M12D-S WAV is built at our Tullahoma, Tennessee facility on ShopSabre CNC routers. Every panel is machine-cut to exact tolerances. Every joint is mechanically locked before adhesive is applied. The build standard that holds up in compact 8" Performance Series enclosures is the same standard applied here — at dual 12" scale, under the sustained pressure two thinPRO12 drivers generate at volume.
Dado joinery interlocks every panel joint mechanically before any fastener or adhesive is set. Two subwoofers in a sealed enclosure generate significant sustained internal pressure at high output levels. Every seam on the M12D-S WAV is mechanically locked before adhesive is applied. The joint integrity does not depend on adhesive condition alone. The acoustic seal does not degrade over time.
Threaded inserts at the baffle face provide a mounting surface that holds through long-term use. No stripped screw holes after repeated driver removal. No baffle creep from vibration over time. The thinPRO12 bolts to this surface and stays locked — the connection between driver and enclosure is as rigid as the enclosure itself.
Each chamber has its own dedicated terminal cup — one per driver, independently wired. No shared terminal between two drivers. No internal splices you did not make yourself. Each driver connects directly to its own cup, which simplifies impedance wiring and keeps the installation clean.
Two thinPRO12-2 (Single 2Ω) wired in parallel → 1Ω final load
Two thinPRO12-4 (Single 4Ω) wired in parallel → 2Ω final load
Verify your amplifier's minimum impedance rating before selecting your driver variant. The 4Ω variant gives you a 2Ω parallel load and broader amplifier compatibility. The 2Ω variant gives you a 1Ω load and maximum power extraction from 1Ω-stable monoblocks.
Every panel is machine-cut on ShopSabre industrial CNC routers. Consistent geometry across every unit. No hand-cut variance. The internal volume of every M12D-S WAV is identical to spec.
Every enclosure is hand-assembled at our Tullahoma, Tennessee facility and inspected before it ships. No overseas manufacturing. No batch assembly shortcuts.
The M12D-S WAV ships in plush black carpet. Clean, professional finish that holds up in daily-use installations and cargo environments.
Option B adds a gloss black acrylic front panel with white Wavtech logo. Option C adds a gloss black panel with your custom graphics — submit artwork via email after purchase. No backlighting. Clean, finished appearance.
The M12D-S WAV is designed for installs where depth is the primary constraint. At 29" W × 15" D × 8" H, the 29" width and 8" height are the dimensions to check against your available space before ordering.

At 8" deep, the M12D-S WAV fits behind the seat of most full-size trucks where a conventional dual 12" box would never go. Measure your available depth behind the seat — 8" is the number to clear.
The 8" height allows this enclosure to sit flat on a crossover or SUV cargo floor without consuming the full vertical space of the cargo area. Dual 12" output without giving up your cargo floor.
Sealed alignment and Wavtech-spec airspace make this the correct enclosure for thinPRO12 builds in sound quality and DSP-controlled systems where accurate, tuneable response is the priority.
Running a single thinPRO12 and need more output? The M12D-S WAV doubles the cone area and output in an enclosure that is still only 8" deep — in most installs, the footprint increase going from single to dual is manageable.
The Proline-X M12D-S WAV is the only dual 12" sealed enclosure engineered specifically for the Wavtech thinPRO12. 0.60 ft³ per chamber. Dado joinery. Threaded baffle inserts. One terminal cup per chamber. Hand-assembled in Tullahoma, Tennessee and inspected before it ships.

Every Proline X Performance Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure — because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.
Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used in our full Proline X lineup.
| Property | Value | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Panel Stock | Langboard Elite MDF | Named, verifiable panel source — not generic "high-density MDF" |
| Thickness | 3/4" (18mm) | Industry standard for subwoofer enclosures; panels below this flex under pressure |
| Density | 48.5 lbs/ft³ | Higher density = less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance |
| Internal Bond | 200 psi | Measures resistance to delamination under sustained internal pressure — the most enclosure-relevant spec on this sheet |
| Modulus of Rupture (MOR) | 4,200 psi | Bending strength before the panel breaks — relevant for larger unsupported baffle spans |
| Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) | 410,000 psi | Stiffness under load; higher MOE means less panel flex under bass pressure, less resonance |
| Face Screw Holding | 325 lbs | How firmly the panel surface holds a screw; critical for baffle joint integrity over time |
| Edge Screw Holding | 250 lbs | Panel edge retention — relevant for every joint that isn't face-to-face |
The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually — the symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.
The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness — resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with V-groove and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level — not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint — where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X Performance Series enclosure is not going anywhere.
The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification — it is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.
Most enclosures are built to a price point. Proline X is built to a spec. Every box starts with published-data MDF, gets CNC-cut to exact internal volume, and is assembled by hand in our Tennessee facility. The difference shows up in the measurements — and in how the box holds up two years into daily use.
Panels are machine-cut on ShopSabre CNC routers and joined with V-groove and dado joinery. Consistent geometry, no hand-cut variance, no gaps at the joints.
Hand-assembled at our facility in Tullahoma, TN. Every enclosure is inspected before it ships.
Internal volume and port geometry are calculated to spec and CNC-cut to exact dimensions. The box performs the same way every time.
