Tru Technology Amplifiers

Individually hand-crafted Class AB and Class A amplifiers

Tru Technology builds individually hand-crafted amplifiers, Class AB and Class A only. The line sits at the reference tier, but the entry to it, the Tungsten pair, comes in at $1,399.99, well under most boutique brands. This is hand-built amplification for a build where the amp is the last thing you upgrade, not the first.

Three tiers carry it. The Tungsten line is the accessible reference at 2 x 175W or 4 x 100W. The Tungsten Grande line is the same idea in a larger chassis with more power, 2 x 200W or 4 x 160W, plus a monoblock for the sub. The Billet B22-A is the Class A flagship at $8,500, hand-built in aerospace-grade aluminum.

Several models are hand-built to order, so availability moves. Tell us the model and the build and we will confirm specs and lead time before you buy.

Where Tru Technology Sits

Tru Technology builds individually hand-crafted amplifiers, and the line is Class AB and Class A only. It sits at the reference end alongside the boutique brands, but the entry to it, the Tungsten pair, comes in well under most of them at $1,399.99. This is hand-built amplification for a front stage or a subwoofer stage where the amp is meant to be the last thing you upgrade, not the first.

Three tiers carry it. The Tungsten line is the accessible reference. The Tungsten Grande line is the same idea in a larger chassis with a bigger power supply and more output. The Billet B22-A is the Class A flagship, hand-built in aerospace-grade aluminum.

The Tru Technology Lineup, Spec by Spec

Every canonical Tru amplifier we stock, with power and dimensions verified against the manufacturer. Power is quoted per channel at 4 ohm, 14.4 volts.

Model Channels Class Power (4Ω RMS) Dimensions W×D×H (in) Price
Tungsten 2 Channel 2-channel AB 2 × 175W 11 × 9 × 2.25 $1,399.99
Tungsten 4 Channel 4-channel AB 4 × 100W 11 × 9 × 2.25 $1,399.99
Tungsten Grande Monoblock Monoblock AB On request On request $1,999.99
Tungsten Grande 2 Channel 2-channel AB 2 × 200W 11 × 15.5 × 2.25 $2,399.99
Tungsten Grande 4 Channel 4-channel AB 4 × 160W 8.5 × 14.5 × 2.2 $2,399.99
Billet B22-A v2.5 2-channel A 2 × 200W 10.5 × 17 × 2.33 $8,500.00

The Tungsten 2-channel runs 175W a side and the Grande 2-channel steps that to 200W with a bigger supply behind it; the Grande also holds 275W a side at 2 ohm. The Grande Monoblock is a subwoofer configuration of the line, and we will confirm its rated power and dimensions for your build on request. Every model publishes its full figures on its product page.

Tungsten: the accessible reference

Hand-built Class AB at the entry to the brand, $1,399.99 for either the 2 Channel (2 x 175W) or the 4 Channel (4 x 100W). This is reference-grade amplification at a price most boutique brands do not have an answer to. See Class AB amplifiers, 2-channel and 4-channel.

Tungsten Grande: more supply, more output

The larger-chassis line, the same topology with a more robust power supply and heat sink. The Grande 2 Channel (2 x 200W) and Grande 4 Channel (4 x 160W) are $2,399.99, and the Grande Monoblock ($1,999.99) covers the subwoofer stage. This is where a full active front stage lives, or a matched-topology multi-amp rack.

Billet B22-A: the Class A flagship

The reference piece. The Billet B22-A v2.5 ($8,500) is a hand-built 2-channel Class A amplifier, 2 x 200W at 4 ohm and 2 x 300W at 2 ohm, in a 17-inch CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminum chassis. See Class A amplifiers.

Tru earns a signal chain built to match it. The drivers live in component sets, the crossover work belongs to a DSP, and gain is what protects all of it: how we set amplifier gain. See the full amplifier lineup.

Frequently Asked Tru Technology Amplifier Questions

What is Tru Technology known for?

Individually hand-crafted reference amplifiers, Class AB and Class A only. The line runs from the Tungsten pair at $1,399.99 up to the Billet B22-A Class A flagship at $8,500, and the appeal is hand-built amplification at the reference tier, with an entry point well below most boutique brands.

What is the difference between Tungsten and Tungsten Grande?

Same topology, different scale. The Tungsten line (2 x 175W or 4 x 100W) is the accessible reference at $1,399.99. The Tungsten Grande line uses a larger chassis, a more robust power supply and a bigger heat sink to make more output, 2 x 200W or 4 x 160W at 4 ohm, with more headroom into low impedance. Grande is the step up when you want more power and dynamics from the same hand-built approach.

Is the Billet B22-A Class A?

Yes. The Billet B22-A v2.5 is a 2-channel Class A amplifier rated 2 x 200W at 4 ohm and 2 x 300W at 2 ohm, hand-built in a 17-inch CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminum chassis. It is the reference piece of the line and priced accordingly at $8,500.

Which Tru amp do I use for a subwoofer?

The Tungsten Grande Monoblock is the subwoofer configuration of the line. A 2-channel Grande or Tungsten can also be bridged to mono for a sub. Tell us the driver and how you are wiring it and we will confirm which model and what rated power fits, since the monoblock is built to order.

Which Tru amp do I use for the front stage?

Any of the Class AB amps, matched to the driver count. The Tungsten or Grande 2-channel for a dedicated front pair, the 4-channel for front and rear or an active setup, and the Billet B22-A when the front stage is the whole point of the build and Class A is the goal.

Are these hand-built?

Yes. Tru Technology amplifiers are individually hand-crafted, which is why some configurations are made to order rather than held on a shelf. A model showing limited stock or a lead time is usually a build-time question, not a discontinued one.

Are these new with manufacturer warranty?

Yes. Every Tru Technology amplifier is brand new, sold by an authorized dealer, and carries the full manufacturer warranty. We handle warranty claims directly with the brand.
