Proline X X Series | Pro KIK 15 X
Single 15" Ported Enclosure | Built for the Kicker Solo-X L7X
The Largest Single-Driver Enclosure in the X Series. Built Accordingly.
The Solo-X L7X 15" is the largest driver in the X Series lineup — triple-stacked ferrite magnets, a 406 oz. magnet assembly, a 3" voice coil, dual-spider suspension, and an Xmax that requires real airspace to operate in its linear range. Kicker's published enclosure recommendation for the L7X 15" is 5.0 cubic feet net, vented, tuned to 30 Hz. The Pro KIK 15 X is built to exactly that specification.
At 40" wide, 18" tall, and 22.75" deep, this is a dedicated build enclosure. It does not fit in compact installs and it does not pretend to. It is sized for the acoustic load a 15" competition driver requires — and every internal dimension is a consequence of that requirement, not of a cost or space target.
This is an enclosure-only product. You source the driver — we handle the box. The square baffle cutout is machined specifically to the L7X 15" platform geometry. This enclosure is not cross-compatible with round 15" drivers.
Why This Enclosure for the Solo-X L7X 15"
The L7X 15" has a 406 oz. magnet assembly — the heaviest in the X Series lineup. At 1000–2000W RMS sustained input, this motor generates more back-pressure, more excursion force, and more heat than any single driver in the X Series. Every construction decision on this enclosure scales to match that output level.
The 5.0 ft³ net internal volume keeps the driver's suspension compliance in its linear operating range at the 30 Hz tuning point. The 70 square inches of port area — the largest in the single-driver X Series — is sized to handle the displacement this driver generates at sustained competition power without port compression or chuffing. The 4.25" × 16.5" port opening is Kicker's own published port geometry for this driver. The Pro KIK 15 X is built to it.
5.0 ft³ — Driver-Specific Volume
Kicker's published vented enclosure recommendation for the L7X 15" is 5.0 ft³ net. This is the volume at which the driver's suspension compliance operates in its linear range at 30 Hz tuning. No approximation — the Pro KIK 15 X is built to that number after accounting for port displacement, triple-layer baffle thickness, and bracing material.
30 Hz Tuning
The lowest tuning frequency in the X Series lineup, matched to the L7X 15"'s larger cone area and higher displacement. At 30 Hz this enclosure reaches lower than any other single-driver configuration in the lineup — the output the motor is capable of producing at the frequencies the cone is large enough to move.
70 sq in Port Area
The 70 square inch port area is the largest in the single-driver X Series. At this driver size and power level, port area is the limiting factor on clean sustained output — undersized port area produces chuffing and compression at high input levels. The Pro KIK 15 X is sized so the port stays clean at the L7X 15"'s rated 1000–2000W RMS input range.
406 oz. Motor — Everything Scales Up
The L7X 15" magnet assembly weighs 406 oz. — nearly double the 8" configuration. At high excursion that mass cycles against the front baffle with proportionally more force. Every construction upgrade on this enclosure — triple-layer baffle, extreme internal bracing, Langboard Elite MDF — exists because this motor demands it.
Construction: Built for a 406 oz. Motor at Competition Power
The Pro KIK 15 X uses the same construction methodology as every Proline X enclosure — Langboard Elite MDF, V-groove and dado joinery, extreme internal cross-bracing, in-house terminal cup, hand-assembled in Tennessee. At 5.0 ft³ net the panel spans are the largest in the X Series. The construction specs are applied to scale.
Triple-Layer Mounting Baffle
The Pro KIK 15 X runs a triple-layer front baffle. The L7X 15" motor assembly at 406 oz. generates more excursion force against the front panel than any single driver in the lineup. Triple-layer construction provides the mass and rigidity this motor requires to stay seated, sealed, and acoustically inert under sustained 1000–2000W RMS input. This is not an upgrade from the smaller configurations — it is the minimum correct specification for a driver this size at this power class.
Extreme Internal Cross-Bracing
The Pro KIK 15 X uses extreme internal cross-bracing throughout the structure — more aggressive than the standard internal bracing on the smaller X Series enclosures. At 5.0 ft³ net the unsupported panel spans on the side panels, top, and rear are significantly larger than any other configuration in the lineup. Cross-bracing at the structural level controls panel resonance across those larger surfaces at 30 Hz — the frequency where a 15" driver operating at full output generates the most panel-loading force. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
Langboard Elite MDF — Named, Verified, Documented
Every panel is cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) — a named, mill-documented panel stock produced in the United States. At 5.0 ft³ with 70 square inches of port area running at 1000–2000W RMS sustained input, the pressure cycling through this enclosure is at the upper end of what any single-driver enclosure in this lineup sees. Panel stock with a published 200 psi internal bond rating is not a preference — it is a structural requirement at this output class.
Langboard Elite — Published Mill Data
Density: 48.5 lbs/ft³ — higher density means less porosity, better screw retention, and reduced panel resonance under sustained bass pressure cycling
Internal Bond: 200 psi — resistance to delamination; at 5.0 ft³ and 70 sq in of port area the pressure generated at competition power levels is significant across every panel joint
Modulus of Elasticity: 410,000 psi — panel stiffness under load; the largest unsupported panel spans in the single-driver X Series lineup demand the highest stiffness the material can provide
Face Screw Holding: 325 lbs — baffle hardware stays locked under the vibration load of a 406 oz. motor assembly at excursion
Edge Screw Holding: 250 lbs — joint integrity at every panel edge connection throughout the enclosure's service life
V-Groove and Dado Joinery
Every panel joint uses V-groove and dado joinery — CNC-cut interlocking grooves that mechanically lock panels before adhesive is applied. At 5.0 ft³ tuned to 30 Hz the internal pressure on every joint under sustained high-power input is at the upper end of what any single-driver ported enclosure generates. The dado interlock resists shear forces regardless of glue condition over time. A leaking seam at this tuning frequency and enclosure volume is an immediate and significant acoustic failure.
In-House Terminal Cup
The terminal cup is built in-house at our Tennessee facility. The recessed ABS/Carbon Fiber Composite cup features stainless steel hardware, aluminum landing plates, and copper ring terminals, pre-wired with 12g OFC speaker wire. At 1000–2000W RMS sustained input, run 8 AWG or larger wiring from the terminal cup to the amplifier — the cup accepts it. Do not run 12g wire from terminal to amplifier at the upper end of this power range.
ShopSabre CNC Routers
Every panel is machine-cut on ShopSabre industrial CNC routers at our Tennessee facility. The square baffle cutout is machined to direct-fit the Solo-X L7X 15" mounting flange. Internal volume of every Pro KIK 15 X is identical to spec — the 30 Hz tuning is accurate, not nominal.
Hand-Assembled in Tennessee
Every enclosure is hand-assembled and inspected at our Tennessee facility before it ships. No overseas manufacturing. Each unit is built individually and checked for volume accuracy, joint integrity, and port clearance before leaving the floor.

Fitment & Specifications
The Pro KIK 15 X is purpose-built for the Kicker Solo-X L7X 15" in both available impedance configurations — the 1Ω DVC (49L7X151) and the 2Ω DVC (49L7X152). The baffle cutout is machined to the L7X square cone geometry. This enclosure is not cross-compatible with round 15" drivers. At 40" wide and 22.75" deep, measure your available install space carefully — both width and depth are binding constraints at this enclosure size.

Ideal Install Applications
Full-Size Trunk Builds
At 40" wide and 22.75" deep the Pro KIK 15 X requires a full-size trunk. Measure width at the narrowest point of your trunk opening — 40" clears most full-size sedans and trucks but not all. Depth at 22.75" requires the enclosure to be positioned against the rear seat back with sufficient floor clearance for the port.
SUV & Truck Cargo Builds
Full-size SUV and truck cargo areas with flat load floors are the natural home for this enclosure. The 18" height keeps it below the window line in most SUV configurations. Secure the enclosure to prevent movement under sustained high-power output — at this size and weight, an unsecured enclosure is a safety issue.
Dedicated SPL Builds
The L7X 15" in a correctly tuned 5.0 ft³ enclosure at 1000–2000W RMS is a competition-capable setup. The Pro KIK 15 X is built to competition construction standards — triple-layer baffle, extreme cross-bracing, dado joinery, Langboard Elite MDF — for builds that will be pushed to the driver's rated limits on a regular basis.
High-Output Daily Driver
A Solo-X L7X 15" in a 30 Hz tuned 5.0 ft³ enclosure produces low-end extension that no smaller driver in a correctly tuned box can match. If the vehicle and install space accommodate this enclosure, the acoustic result is the deepest, highest-output configuration in the single-driver X Series lineup.

Built From a Spec Sheet, Not a Sales Sheet
Every Proline X X Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure — because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.
Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used in our full Proline X lineup.
Langboard Elite MDF — Published Mill Data
| Property | Value | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Panel Stock | Langboard Elite MDF | Named, verifiable panel source — not generic "high-density MDF" |
| Thickness | 3/4" (18mm) | Industry standard for subwoofer enclosures; panels below this flex under pressure |
| Density | 48.5 lbs/ft³ | Higher density = less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance |
| Internal Bond | 200 psi | Measures resistance to delamination under sustained internal pressure — the most enclosure-relevant spec on this sheet |
| Modulus of Rupture (MOR) | 4,200 psi | Bending strength before the panel breaks — relevant for larger unsupported baffle spans |
| Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) | 410,000 psi | Stiffness under load; higher MOE means less panel flex under bass pressure, less resonance |
| Face Screw Holding | 325 lbs | How firmly the panel surface holds a screw; critical for baffle joint integrity over time |
| Edge Screw Holding | 250 lbs | Panel edge retention — relevant for every joint that isn't face-to-face |
200 psi — The Number That Actually Matters for Enclosures
The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually — the symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.
410,000 psi MOE — Less Flex, Less Resonance
The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness — resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with V-groove and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level — not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
325 lb Face / 250 lb Edge — Joints That Stay Locked
Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint — where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X X Series enclosure is not going anywhere.
Named Panel Stock — Not "Premium MDF"
The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification — it is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.
