Dual 12" Ported Enclosure | Built for Two Kicker Solo-X L7X Drivers
Two Solo-X 12" Drivers. One Correctly Engineered Enclosure.
The dual 12" X Series is a front-firing, high-output ported enclosure built for two Solo-X L7X 12" drivers in a shared chamber. Both drivers and the port face forward. Two terminal cups sit on the side panel for clean wiring access. The enclosure loads into the cabin from a trunk or cargo floor position — drivers and port firing toward the rear seat.
Running two L7X 12" drivers together is not a matter of scaling the single 12" box. Combined displacement, excursion load, and port velocity are recalculated independently for the two-driver shared alignment. The result is 6.0 cubic feet net internal volume tuned to 31 Hz with 91 square inches of port area — every number a consequence of the combined T/S parameters of two Solo-X L7X 12" drivers, not a template.
This is an enclosure-only product. You source the drivers — we handle the box. The square baffle cutouts are machined specifically to the L7X 12" platform geometry. This enclosure is not cross-compatible with round 12" drivers.
Why This Enclosure for Two Solo-X L7X 12" Drivers
Two L7X 12" drivers in a correctly sized and tuned shared enclosure produce output and low-end extension that no single driver in the X Series lineup can match. The key is that both drivers share a common 6.0 ft³ tuned volume — not two isolated chambers, not two single boxes joined together. The combined T/S parameters of both drivers determine the volume, tuning, and port area. At 31 Hz this enclosure reaches lower than generic dual-12" alternatives typically tuned at 34–38 Hz, with 91 square inches of port area keeping air velocity clean at the combined input of two competition-class motors at sustained high power.
6.0 ft³ — Dual-Driver Specific Volume
Not 2 × 3.0. The combined T/S parameters of two L7X 12" drivers in a shared enclosure produce a different optimal volume than two independent single boxes. 6.0 ft³ net is the correct airspace for these two drivers operating together in a vented alignment at 31 Hz, calculated after accounting for port displacement, triple-layer baffle, and bracing.
31 Hz — Lower Than Generic, Correct for This Driver
The same tuning target as the single 12" — arrived at independently for two drivers. Generic dual-12" enclosures run 4–7 Hz higher. That difference is audible in the 28–35 Hz range where two L7X 12" motors working together have significant output capability. This enclosure does not leave that extension on the table.
91 sq in Port Area
Two L7X 12" motors at sustained competition power move significant combined air volume. At 91 square inches the port area keeps velocity clean at the 31 Hz tuning point where both drivers are working hardest — no chuffing, no compression, no port artifacts under sustained dual-driver load.
Front-Firing Configuration
Both drivers and the port fire forward from the front face. The two terminal cups are on the side panel. This is a traditional trunk-forward install orientation — the enclosure sits on the trunk floor or cargo surface with drivers and port loading rearward into the cabin. No special vehicle type required.
Construction: Built for Two Large-Format Competition Drivers
The Pro KIK 12D uses the same construction methodology as every Proline X enclosure — Langboard Elite MDF, V-groove and dado joinery, extensive internal bracing, in-house terminal cups, hand-assembled in Tennessee. Two L7X 12" motors generate twice the pressure load and twice the excursion force against the front baffle of the single 12". The construction specs reflect that.
Triple-Layer Mounting Baffle — 2.25"
The dual 12" runs a triple-layer front baffle at 2.25" total thickness. Two L7X 12" motor assemblies — each with triple-stacked ferrite magnets, 3" voice coils, and dual-spider suspension — cycling against the front panel at high excursion generate more combined force than any dual-layer baffle is designed to handle at competition power levels. Triple-layer construction keeps both drivers seated, both gasket seals intact, and the baffle acoustically inert under sustained high-power dual-driver input.
Langboard Elite MDF — Named, Verified, Documented
Every panel is cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) — a named, mill-documented panel stock produced in the United States. At 6.0 ft³ with 91 square inches of port area, the panel spans on this enclosure are among the largest in the X Series lineup. Published internal bond and modulus of elasticity data is the structural foundation that keeps those larger panels performing correctly under sustained competition power.
Langboard Elite — Published Mill Data
Density: 48.5 lbs/ft³ — higher density means less porosity, better screw retention, and reduced panel resonance under sustained bass pressure cycling
Internal Bond: 200 psi — resistance to delamination; two L7X 12" drivers at competition power generate the highest joint pressure load of any dual-driver configuration in the X Series
Modulus of Elasticity: 410,000 psi — panel stiffness under load; at 6.0 ft³ the unsupported panel spans require consistent stiffness across every sheet to stay inert at 31 Hz
Face Screw Holding: 325 lbs — baffle hardware stays locked under the combined vibration load of two heavy-motor L7X 12" assemblies at excursion
Edge Screw Holding: 250 lbs — joint integrity at every panel edge connection throughout the enclosure's service life
V-Groove and Dado Joinery
Every panel joint uses V-groove and dado joinery — CNC-cut interlocking grooves that mechanically lock panels before adhesive is applied. In a 6.0 ft³ dual-driver ported enclosure tuned to 31 Hz, the internal pressure on every joint under sustained competition power is at the upper end of what any front-firing X Series enclosure generates. The dado interlock resists shear forces regardless of glue condition over time.
Extensive Internal Bracing
The Pro KIK 12D is braced throughout the internal structure. At 6.0 ft³ the side panels, top, and rear panel all have significant unsupported surface area. Bracing is placed to control resonance across those surfaces at 31 Hz under combined dual-driver load. The bass comes from the drivers, not the box.
In-House Terminal Cups
Both terminal cups are built in-house at our Tennessee facility and mounted on the side panel for clean wiring access from either side of the install. The recessed ABS/Carbon Fiber Composite cups feature stainless steel hardware, aluminum landing plates, and copper ring terminals, pre-wired with 12g OFC speaker wire. At 1000–2000W RMS per driver, run 8 AWG or larger from each terminal cup to the amplifier.
ShopSabre CNC Routers
Every panel is machine-cut on ShopSabre industrial CNC routers at our Tennessee facility. Both square baffle cutouts are machined to direct-fit the Solo-X L7X 12" mounting flanges — no adapters, no modification required. The 11-1/16" square opening is held to tolerance so both drivers mount cleanly and both gasket seals correctly.
Hand-Assembled in Tennessee
Every enclosure is hand-assembled and inspected at our Tennessee facility before it ships. No overseas manufacturing. Each unit is built individually and checked for volume accuracy, joint integrity, and port clearance before leaving the floor.

Wiring Configurations
Two Single 2Ω Drivers — Parallel
Wire both drivers in parallel for a 1Ω final load. Requires an amplifier stable at 1Ω. Maximum power transfer from high-current monoblocks rated at 1Ω.
Two Single 4Ω Drivers — Parallel
Wire both drivers in parallel for a 2Ω final load. Most common configuration — compatible with the widest range of high-output monoblock amplifiers.
Two Single 2Ω Drivers — Series
Wire both drivers in series for a 4Ω final load. Use when your amplifier is not stable at lower impedances. Output will be lower than parallel configurations at equivalent amplifier power.
Plan Before You Order
Select driver impedance based on your amplifier's stable output impedance. At 1000–2000W RMS per driver, plan your full electrical system before committing to amplifier selection. Contact us with your amplifier model and wiring plan for confirmation.
Ideal Install Applications
Full-Size Trunk Builds
At 44" wide and 27.5" deep the Pro KIK 12D requires a full-size trunk. Measure width at the narrowest point of your trunk opening and depth from the rear seat back to the rear of the trunk floor. Both dimensions need to clear before ordering.
SUV Cargo Builds
Full-size SUV cargo areas with adequate floor depth accommodate this enclosure in a front-firing orientation. The 16" height keeps it below the window line in most SUV configurations. Verify cargo floor dimensions before ordering.
Dedicated SPL Builds
Two L7X 12" drivers in a correctly tuned 6.0 ft³ enclosure at 1000–2000W RMS per driver represents the highest front-firing output in the X Series dual-driver lineup. The Pro KIK 12D is built to competition construction standards for builds that will be pushed to the driver's rated limits.
High-Output Daily Driver
The 31 Hz tuning delivers low-end extension that higher-tuned generic alternatives cannot access. For daily use at real power levels, two L7X 12" drivers loaded correctly at 31 Hz produce the kind of output that makes the enclosure investment obvious from the first listen.

Built From a Spec Sheet, Not a Sales Sheet
Every Proline X X Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure — because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.
Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used in our full Proline X lineup.
Langboard Elite MDF — Published Mill Data
| Property | Value | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Panel Stock | Langboard Elite MDF | Named, verifiable panel source — not generic "high-density MDF" |
| Thickness | 3/4" (18mm) | Industry standard for subwoofer enclosures; panels below this flex under pressure |
| Density | 48.5 lbs/ft³ | Higher density = less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance |
| Internal Bond | 200 psi | Measures resistance to delamination under sustained internal pressure — the most enclosure-relevant spec on this sheet |
| Modulus of Rupture (MOR) | 4,200 psi | Bending strength before the panel breaks — relevant for larger unsupported baffle spans |
| Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) | 410,000 psi | Stiffness under load; higher MOE means less panel flex under bass pressure, less resonance |
| Face Screw Holding | 325 lbs | How firmly the panel surface holds a screw; critical for baffle joint integrity over time |
| Edge Screw Holding | 250 lbs | Panel edge retention — relevant for every joint that isn't face-to-face |
200 psi — The Number That Actually Matters for Enclosures
The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually — the symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.
410,000 psi MOE — Less Flex, Less Resonance
The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness — resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with V-groove and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level — not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
325 lb Face / 250 lb Edge — Joints That Stay Locked
Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint — where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X X Series enclosure is not going anywhere.
Named Panel Stock — Not "Premium MDF"
The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification — it is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.
