Butterworth on Both Coil Versions, From One Cabinet
The Solo-Baric L7R 10 is the rare driver where the two coil options load a sealed box almost identically. In this cabinet the dual 2-ohm 45L7R102 lands at Qtc 0.705 and the dual 4-ohm 45L7R104 at Qtc 0.710. Both are sitting on the 0.707 Butterworth point, and they differ from each other by five thousandths, which is well inside build tolerance.
0.82 cu ft gross internal airspace, which sits in the middle of Kicker's published 0.66 to 1.00 cu ft sealed window, and roughly 0.72 cu ft net once the driver is in. Butterworth is the maximally flat sealed alignment: no peak at resonance, no dip before roll-off, and the flattest amplitude response a sealed box is capable of producing.
Built Shallow On Purpose
The L7R 10 needs only 6-1/8" of mounting depth. Rather than inherit the deep cabinet our SoloX wedge needs for its 9-7/16" motor, this box was re-solved around the shallower driver: the airspace moved sideways into width instead of backward into depth. The result is 12.7" at the floor instead of 16.25", a three and a half inch reduction in the dimension that actually decides whether a box fits behind your seat.
Vertical Rear Panel
Sits flush against the cab back wall or trunk bulkhead, so the full footprint of the box goes to airspace instead of wasted gaps.
20° Raked Baffle
Matches the lean of most factory seat backs and fires the L7R forward into the cabin instead of into the seat.
Dado-Locked Internal Brace
A 3/4" brace directly behind the woofer halves the largest panel span. Its depth matches the baffle stack, so driver clearance is engineered in, not left to luck.
Carpet-Wrap Ledge
A recessed perimeter ledge terminates the carpet cleanly at the baffle edge for a finished, factory look.
Engineered for the Kicker Solo-Baric L7R 10
Solved from Kicker's published Klippel T/S measurements rather than adapted from a generic 10" box. Butterworth is what most people actually want from a sealed sub and rarely get, because it requires the driver's Qts and Vas to cooperate with a box size that fits in a vehicle. On this driver they do.

Mounting Geometry
The baffle is CNC-cut to 9-5/16" square (Kicker spec, shared with the SoloX 10 and L7S 10). The cabinet gives the motor about 6.6" against the 6-1/8" it needs, so the vented back plate has breathing room. 8/32 threaded inserts pressed into the baffle backside.

Excursion Headroom You Cannot Run Out Of
The L7R 10 is rated at 500 watts RMS. In this airspace it takes roughly 1394 watts to drive the cone to its 16.75 mm linear limit, and about 1814 watts behind a 25 Hz subsonic filter. The driver's thermal rating runs out at well under half that, which means you cannot mechanically over-drive this combination on the power Kicker rates it for. That is a comfortable place to be.

V-Groove and Dado Joinery
CNC-cut V-grooves at every panel intersection. Dado joints lock the raked baffle, vertical rear panel, and internal brace into the side walls.
Double-Layer 1.5" Front Baffle
Two bonded 3/4" MDF sheets plus a trim layer at the driver mounting face. The square L7R frame loads its flange hard at the corners; this baffle does not flex.

Wiring the Solo-Baric L7R 10 to Your Amplifier
Kicker rates the L7R 10 at 500 watts RMS and 1000 watts peak. Pick the coil version that wires to the impedance your amplifier makes clean power into: the dual 2-ohm wires to 1 or 4 ohms, the dual 4-ohm to 2 or 8. Because both versions land on Butterworth in this box, you can choose purely on amplifier match.

Built From a Spec Sheet, Not a Sales Sheet
Every Proline X Performance Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF, 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure, because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.
Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used in our full Proline X lineup.

200 psi: The Number That Actually Matters for Enclosures
The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually. The symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.
410,000 psi MOE: Less Flex, Less Resonance
The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness, its resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with V-groove and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level, not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
325 lb Face / 250 lb Edge: Joints That Stay Locked
Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint, where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X Performance Series enclosure is not going anywhere.
Named Panel Stock: Not "Premium MDF"
The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification. It is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.
