Crescendo's REVOLUTION line is built for sound quality first. The four-channel amps are high-bias Class AB with a pure amplifier design, no onboard crossovers or bass boost, so the signal path stays short and the tuning happens on a DSP where it belongs. The flagship 7A4 measures 0.0035% THD and a 110dB signal-to-noise ratio, with Burr Brown, Sanken and Elna parts inside. This is an SQ amplifier line, not a loudness line.
The naming is a tier and a channel count: the number is the tier, the A is the amplifier, the last digit is channels. So the ladder runs 3A4, 5A4 and 7A4 on the four-channel side, with two monoblocks underneath, the Class AB 5A1 for a refined sub stage and the Class D 3A1 when the build needs high-output bass.
Every new Crescendo amp we stock, with power and dimensions verified against the manufacturer. Multichannel power is per channel at 4 ohm with the 2 ohm figure in parentheses; the monoblocks show their rated load.
| Model | Channels | Class | Power (RMS) | Dimensions L×W×H (in) | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| REVOLUTION 3A4 | 4-channel | AB | 4 × 70W @ 4Ω (110W @ 2Ω) | 10.6 × 5.9 × 2.4 | $499.00 |
| REVOLUTION 3A1 | Monoblock | D | 400W @ 4Ω / 600W @ 2Ω / 1000W @ 1Ω | 10.6 × 5.9 × 2.4 | $569.99 |
| REVOLUTION 5A1 | Monoblock | AB | 450W @ 4Ω, 2Ω and 1Ω | 10.6 × 5.9 × 2.4 | $749.99 |
| REVOLUTION 5A4 | 4-channel | AB | 4 × 75W @ 4Ω (125W @ 2Ω) | 10.6 × 5.9 × 2.4 | $779.99 |
| REVOLUTION 7A4 | 4-channel | AB | 4 × 150W @ 4Ω (2 × 480W bridged) | 14.17 × 8.46 × 2.13 | $1,699.99 |
The 5A1 is the unusual one: 450W a channel held flat across 4, 2 and 1 ohm, so the sub sees the same power however you wire it. The 3A1 is the Class D high-output option, 1000W at 1 ohm. On the four-channel side, the 3A4, 5A4 and 7A4 step from 70W to 150W a channel. Each product page carries the full performance and component detail.
Three high-bias Class AB four-channels for the front stage. The 3A4 (4 x 70W) is the entry at $499, the 5A4 (4 x 75W) adds 32-bit high-resolution support and a wider bandwidth, and the 7A4 (4 x 150W) is the SQ flagship, a pure amplifier with Burr Brown, Sanken and Elna parts and 0.0035% THD. All three bridge to two channels for a sub. See Class AB amplifiers and 4-channel amplifiers.
Two subwoofer amps for two different goals. The 5A1 is Class AB, 450W held flat across every impedance, the refined choice for an SQ sub. The 3A1 is Class D on the IRS2092S platform, 1000W at 1 ohm for high-output bass. See monoblock amplifiers and Class D amplifiers.
An SQ amp earns a signal chain to match. The drivers live in component sets and car subwoofers, the crossover and time alignment belong to a DSP, and gain is what protects all of it: how we set amplifier gain. See the full range in the amplifier lineup.
Sound-quality amplifiers. The REVOLUTION four-channels are high-bias Class AB with a pure amplifier design and no onboard crossovers, built for a low noise floor and an accurate front stage. The flagship 7A4 measures 0.0035% THD and 110dB signal-to-noise with Burr Brown, Sanken and Elna parts. The line also includes two subwoofer monoblocks, one Class AB and one Class D.
Both, depending on the model. The four-channel 3A4, 5A4 and 7A4 and the 5A1 monoblock are high-bias Class AB, the topology an SQ front stage and a refined sub reward. The 3A1 monoblock is Class D on the IRS2092S platform for high-output bass. Older references calling the whole line Class D are wrong: four of the five REVOLUTION amps are Class AB.
No, and that is deliberate. The REVOLUTION four-channels are pure amplifiers: RCA input, level control, speaker output, no crossover or EQ in the signal path. That keeps the path short and the noise floor low. The tradeoff is that the crossover and tuning have to come from a DSP, so plan one into the system.
One of the two monoblocks, matched to the goal. The 5A1 is Class AB and holds 450W flat across 4, 2 and 1 ohm, the refined choice for an SQ sub. The 3A1 is Class D and makes 1000W at 1 ohm for high-output bass. A four-channel can also be bridged to two channels for a sub. Match the amp's power at your wired impedance to the driver's RMS rating.
Power and refinement up the ladder. The 3A4 is 4 x 70W at $499. The 5A4 is 4 x 75W with 32-bit high-resolution support and a wider bandwidth. The 7A4 is the flagship at 4 x 150W, a pure SQ amplifier with Burr Brown and Sanken parts, the lowest distortion in the line and a larger chassis. All three are high-bias Class AB.
For the four-channels, effectively yes. Because they have no onboard crossover, the high-pass, low-pass and time alignment for the front stage have to come from a DSP or a source unit with those controls. That is normal for an SQ build and it is where these amps are meant to live. The monoblocks are simpler and run a sub directly.
Yes. Every Crescendo amplifier is brand new, sold by an authorized dealer, and carries the full manufacturer warranty. We handle warranty claims directly with the brand.

DSP for Tuning Control
A DSP gives you crossovers, EQ, time alignment, and signal routing in a single unit. The amplifier delivers the power; the DSP makes the system actually sound right.
