Big amplifiers are easy to sell and easy to misuse, so let me tell you how I look at the Big Ben after four decades of doing this. The 3500 watt rating at 1 ohm is honest, rated at 14.4 volts like the rest of the US Acoustics line, and the parts of this amp I care about most are the ones that keep that number real: the heat sink design and the bulk capacitor banks.

Plenty of amps hit a number on a test bench and sag the moment you play actual music hard for twenty minutes. The control set is what separates this from a blunt instrument. The subsonic filter is the feature I want every ported box owner to understand: below tuning frequency your subwoofer loses its air spring and the cone flops, and with this much power that kills woofers fast. Set the subsonic just under box tuning and the Big Ben becomes a daily amp you can trust.

The phase control matters too. I use it to lock the sub to the front stage, and it is the difference between bass that comes from behind you and bass that comes from the music. Now the part most people skip: electrical. This amp calls for external 400 amp fusing, which is not in the box, and that number should tell you everything about the current involved.

Do the big three, run proper large-gauge power and ground, and be realistic about your alternator before you chase full output. Buy the enclosure and the electrical upgrades with the amp, not after the first weekend.

US Acoustics Mono Class D Series

US Acoustics Big Ben 3500W Monoblock Amplifier

A Tower of Power. 3500 watts RMS at 1 ohm from an ultra efficient Class D design with the heat sink, capacitor banks, and control set to use every watt of it daily.

875W @ 4 Ohms 1750W @ 2 Ohms 3500W @ 1 Ohm 2-Year Warranty

3500 Watts of Daily-Drivable Bass

The US Acoustics Big Ben is a 1-ohm stable Class D monoblock rated at 875 watts RMS into 4 ohms, 1750 watts RMS into 2 ohms, and 3500 watts RMS into 1 ohm, all at 14.4 volts. This is the second rung of the US Acoustics mono ladder, built for subwoofer systems that need serious, sustained output rather than a peak number on a sticker.

Sustained is the operative word. A thermally stable heat sink design maximizes heat transfer efficiency, and extreme bulk capacitor banks hold the power supply steady through hard, repeated bass transients. The result on paper: signal-to-noise above 107 dB and a damping factor greater than 350 at 100 Hz into 4 ohms, which translates to subwoofer control, not just subwoofer volume.

A Complete Bass Control Set

Butterworth Low-Pass, 10 to 250 Hz

The 24 dB per octave low-pass filter sweeps from 10 to 250 Hz, steep enough to keep midrange content completely out of the subwoofer and wide enough for any crossover point a system design calls for.

Subsonic Filter, 15 to 55 Hz

The adjustable subsonic filter protects subwoofers in ported enclosures from over-excursion below tuning frequency. With 3500 watts on tap, this filter is not optional equipment in a ported build, it is what keeps your subwoofers alive. Set it just below box tuning and let the system play hard safely.

Bass Boost and Wired Remote

Variable bass boost from 0 to +12 dB at 50 Hz, with the wired remote included in the box for front-seat level control.

Phase Control, 0 to 180 Degrees

Variable phase shift lets you align the subwoofer with the front stage so bass arrives with the music instead of behind it. It is one of the most underused tools in bass integration, and the Big Ben has it onboard.

Match It to the Right Enclosure

An amplifier this size deserves an enclosure engineered to the same standard. Our Proline X enclosures are CNC-cut in Tullahoma, Tennessee and matched to specific subwoofers, and we can tell you exactly which subwoofer and enclosure combination will use the Big Ben's power properly. Ported builds especially benefit from the Big Ben's adjustable subsonic filter.

Plan the electrical system: the Big Ben requires external fusing of 400A, not included. Current demand at this power level means your charging system matters: quality large-gauge power and ground runs, a big three upgrade at minimum, and an honest look at alternator and battery capacity for sustained playback. The chassis measures 24.6 x 8.4 x 2.2 inches, so measure the install space before ordering. Extra large gauge terminals accept the wire this amplifier needs.

Built to the US Acoustics Standard

Docking Pads reduce vibration transfer to extend amplifier life. Protection circuitry covers DC, short circuit, thermal, and overload conditions, with diagnostic LEDs for fast troubleshooting. Every Big Ben sold by Audio Intensity is brand new from US Acoustics with a 2-year warranty through authorized dealers.

Authorized US Acoustics Dealer

Audio Intensity ships the US Acoustics Big Ben fast from Tullahoma, Tennessee, with real installer support before and after the sale. Tell us your subwoofers, enclosure, and vehicle and we will tell you honestly whether the Big Ben is the right amount of power, and how to wire it safely.
