The Prodigy Audio NB5 Series 10-inch subwoofer isn’t just another driver; it’s a high-displacement machine built for enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on space or output. While many 10-inch woofers fall flat in the sub-30Hz range, the NB5-10 is engineered with a massive 280oz ferrite motor and a 2.75-inch flat-wound aluminum voice coil, allowing it to handle a true 1000 watts RMS while maintaining clinical control over every cycle.
Performance at this level requires serious heat dissipation. The NB5-10 utilizes a heavy-duty cast aluminum frame that doubles as a heat exchanger, drawing thermal energy away from the motor. To combat inductive distortion, Prodigy Audio integrated a large inner pole Faraday shorting ring (upper and lower). This stabilizes the magnetic field throughout the cone's travel, resulting in cleaner, more accurate low-frequency reproduction even at extreme volume levels.
With a staggering 27mm of one-way linear excursion (70% BL) and up to 50mm of mechanical clearance, this woofer is designed to move air. The competition-grade treated paper cone is supported by a high-roll foam surround and extreme-duty Nomex spiders with double-stitched tinsel leads. Whether you are chasing a high-score in a local lane or simply want a daily driver that can handle the low-end transients of modern bass music, the NB5-10 is the technical solution for high-SPL applications in compact enclosures.

Pro Tip: EBP is just one factor in enclosure design. Always use complete Thiele-Small parameters and modeling software for optimal results. Our custom enclosures are engineered specifically for each subwoofer's parameters.
The Efficiency Bandwidth Product (EBP) is calculated by dividing the subwoofer's resonant frequency (Fs) by its electrical damping (Qes). This single number helps predict which enclosure type will work best with your subwoofer.
