Twisted pair construction winds the signal and return conductors around each other, so noise picked up along the run is induced equally in both and largely cancels at the amplifier input. That matters in a car, where RCAs share space with power wiring, fuel pumps and ignition. For the best result, route RCAs down the opposite side of the vehicle from the amplifier power wire.
The 4 channel version bundles four channels in one run, for a four channel or five channel amplifier fed from a single source.
Choosing a Length
Measure the path the cable will actually take, along the trim and under the carpet, not the straight-line distance, and add a foot or two for routing and service loops. For a trunk-mounted amplifier fed from the dash, 17 ft covers most cars and 20 ft covers most trucks and SUVs.
