What You Are Buying
A two-way 6.5 inch component set: two woofers, two 19mm fabric tweeters, two crossovers, plus the tweeter inserts and mounting accessories Eton shipped in the box. From a line Eton no longer produces, and we are not restocking it.
Eton built these in Germany, which on a component set at this level is unusual and shows up in the parts. A powder-coated metal basket instead of stamped steel. A fiberglass-reinforced paper cone rather than plain polypropylene. Those are cost decisions a manufacturer makes when the target is longevity rather than the spec sheet.
Read this before you buy
Final sale. No returns, no exchanges, no manufacturer warranty. Discontinued model with no replacement pipeline, so a failed driver cannot be matched. If you need warranty coverage, buy current production.
Reading the Specification
92dB sensitivity
This is high, and on a component set it is the number that changes what the speaker is for. 92dB means these work properly on head unit power, which most component sets do not. A factory deck at 18 to 22W per channel will drive these to a level that surprises people.
It also means that when you do put an amplifier on them, you need less of it than the 70W rating suggests. Sensitivity and power handling are two ways of getting to the same output, and Eton chose sensitivity.
70W RMS, 100W music power
Two figures published to two different standards. 70W is the continuous rating and the one to size an amplifier against. The 100W music power figure is a short-term rating and not something to design around.
Fiberglass-reinforced paper cone
Paper for the damping, fiberglass for the stiffness. It is a middle path between a pure paper cone that stays smooth but flexes, and a composite that holds its shape but rings. On a midbass asked to work from 80Hz up, that combination is a sensible place to land.
19mm fabric dome on ferrite
Fabric rather than metal, so it rolls off gently rather than getting hard at the top. 19mm is small, which widens dispersion and helps in a car where nothing is aimed at you. The ferrite magnet makes the tweeter physically larger behind the mounting surface than a neodymium unit would be, so check your sail panel or A-pillar depth.
Fitment
- 165mm outer diameter, standard 6.5 inch European mounting. Non-European cars usually need an adapter plate, which is not supplied.
- 65.5mm installation depth. This is deep for a 6.5 inch driver and it is the specification most likely to stop the job. Measure your door with the window down before ordering.
- 4 Ohm nominal.
- Tweeter inserts and mounting accessories are in the box. Speaker wire and adapter plates are not.
Straight answer
The case for these is that 92dB gets you a real front stage without an amplifier. If you are already running 70W per channel and want to spend it, a lower-sensitivity driver with more excursion will give you more midbass than these will. If you are running the factory deck, very little else at this size does what these do.

- You are running head unit power and want the most from it.
- Your doors will take 65.5mm.
- You want a separate tweeter at ear height.
- You accept a final sale on a discontinued product with no warranty path.
Look elsewhere if
- Your doors are shallow. 65.5mm rules out a lot of cars without spacers.
- You are running well over 70W per channel.
- You want a one-hole coaxial install.
- You want warranty coverage or the option to return.
Installation
- Measure the depth first. On this set that is not a formality.
- Test-fit the woofer dry, window up and window down, before wiring.
- Mount the crossovers somewhere dry and secured. Inside the door above the drain line, or behind a kick panel.
- Amplifier or head unit into the crossover input, crossover outputs to woofer and tweeter. Never feed the tweeter directly.
- Seal the inner door skin. On a 92dB driver the door does more for you than another 20W would.
Condition and sale terms
Closeout stock from a discontinued Eton line. Sold as a final sale with no returns, no exchanges and no manufacturer warranty. Packaging may show shelf wear from storage. Specifications are as published by Eton, including the separate nominal and music power ratings. Once remaining stock is gone this listing will be removed.
