INSTALLER'S TAKE

Mount it shallow edge up. The 8.5 inch face goes at the top, the 13 inch face sits on the floor, and the cabinet leans back into the seat or bulkhead. Fitted the other way round it stands proud, wastes the space it exists to save, and puts the baffle back parallel with the glass. Obvious on paper, less obvious in a dark cargo area at the end of a job.

This is the smaller of the two Performance wedges at 14.5 inches wide, which makes it a genuinely easy fit in a compact hatch or a small SUV cargo area where the 12 inch version would be tight. Worth measuring the width across your seat back rather than assuming, because the wedge only works if the full deep edge sits flat on the floor.

Secure it before you leave. A loaded 10 in a 0.70 cubic foot cabinet still carries enough mass to move under hard braking on a carpeted floor. Tie it to a factory anchor point or through bolt to the floor pan. Decide your impedance before ordering as well, since the driver is installed and the cabinet sealed before it ships.

Performance Series | P10-S W | Loaded

Built for the Arc Audio X2V2 10.
Sealed Wedge, Loaded and Wired.

The X2V2 10 carries 14.8mm of one-way linear Xmax and a 200 watt RMS rating that reflects sustained thermal capacity rather than a peak figure. The Proline X P10-S W delivers 0.70 cubic feet of sealed airspace in the most compact wedge we build, leaning into a seat back rather than standing square in your cargo area. The driver arrives mounted, wired and sealed against the baffle.

0.70 cu ft — Toward the Tighter End of Arc's Range

Arc Audio publishes a sealed range of 0.65 to 1.0 cubic feet for the X2V2 10. This enclosure is 0.70 cubic feet net, sitting near the lower end of that range rather than in the middle.

A smaller sealed box raises system Qtc. That trades a little anechoic extension for more midbass punch and tighter transient control. In a vehicle, where cabin gain already adds 6 to 12 dB below 80 Hz, most of what the smaller cabinet gives up on paper is restored in the listening position while the added control is audible straight away.

If you want the more relaxed alignment at the top of Arc's range, you want a larger cabinet than this wedge provides. Worth knowing before you order rather than after.

The Most Compact Wedge We Build

At 14.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall, tapering from 8.5 inches deep at the top to 13 at the bottom, this is a genuinely small footprint for a 10 inch sealed system. It fits compact hatches and small SUV cargo areas where the 12 inch wedge would be tight.

Mounted shallow edge up it leans into a rear seat back or bulkhead and occupies the space that was already awkward, leaving the flat cargo floor usable. The roughly 20 degree taper also keeps the baffle out of parallel with the rear glass, which reduces the standing wave behaviour you get when a large flat radiating surface faces a large flat reflecting one.

The X2V2 10 — Rated Conservatively, Built for Daily Use

Arc Audio's power testing philosophy is to double test power after each successful round until something actually fails, which is why the 200 watt RMS figure reflects sustained thermal capacity rather than a peak dressed up as continuous.

The motor uses double stacked magnets and a 2 inch copper coated aluminium voice coil on a Kapton former, anodised black for radiative heat dissipation. The four spoke stamped steel basket carries eight integrated motor cooling vents plus a T-yoke centre vent. The cone is reinforced pulp paper with a moisture resistant coating, the surround is large diameter rubber rather than foam, and the high roll Conex spider has the tinsel leads woven directly into it, which removes the bare lead designs that cause cone slap and shorts over time.

Volume

0.70 cu ft Net, Calculated Not Estimated

Net internal volume is 0.70 cubic feet after bracing and driver displacement, calculated from the cut geometry rather than derived from external dimensions minus an assumed wall thickness.

Driver

14.8mm Xmax, 346 cm² Cone

The X2V2 10 carries 14.8mm of one-way linear Xmax with 85 dB sensitivity and a 129 gram moving mass. Enough travel to produce real output at this volume without running out of stroke at listening levels.

Baffle

0.75" Single Baffle, 9.25" Cutout

Cut from Langboard Elite 3/4" MDF with a 9.25 inch machined opening. Max mounting depth is 8 inches, comfortable clearance for a standard depth 10 inch driver.

Wiring

Pre-Wired 12g OFC to the Terminal Cup

The recessed Proline X ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup with stainless hardware and copper ring terminals is installed and wired to the driver. Connect your amplifier run and the wiring is finished.

Footprint

14.5" Wide — Fits Where the 12 Will Not

The smallest wedge in the Performance line. Compact hatches and small SUV cargo areas that cannot take the 16 inch wide 12 inch version will usually take this.

Acoustic

Polyfill Installed at the Bench

Fitted and matched to this volume before the cabinet is sealed. Polyfill slows the speed of sound inside the box, making it behave acoustically larger than its physical net volume. Consistent packing density on every unit.

Orientation

Shallow Edge Up, Deep Edge Down

The wedge only pays off mounted the right way round. Shallow edge up, leaning back into the seat. Fitted inverted it stands proud and puts the baffle back parallel with the glass.

Finish

Dark Gray Trunkliner or Plush Black

Both wrap the full cabinet including the tapered face. Choose above. Plush black is the deeper pile of the two and hides handling marks better in a cargo area that gets used.

Ready to Mount. Ready to Wire.

The system ships fully assembled. The driver is mounted, gasketed and sealed against the baffle, and wired to the Proline X terminal cup with 12 gauge OFC. Polyfill is installed. Connect your amplifier run and the install is complete.

Impedance Options — D2 and D4

The X2V2 10 is available as a Dual 2 ohm (D2) and a Dual 4 ohm (D4). Wire the D2 parallel for 1 ohm or series for 4 ohms. Wire the D4 parallel for 2 ohms or series for 8 ohms. Most single subwoofer builds run the D4 parallel at 2 ohms into a 2 ohm stable monoblock delivering 150 to 200 watts RMS. Confirm your amplifier's minimum stable impedance before selecting the voice coil.

Where It Fits

At 14.5 inches wide and 13 tall, tapering from 8.5 to 13 inches deep, this cabinet is designed to live against a vertical surface rather than in the middle of a floor:

  • Behind a rear seat back in a compact SUV or crossover
  • Against a bulkhead in a hatchback
  • Trunk front wall in a compact sedan, facing rearward
  • Extended cab trucks, behind the seat
  • Wagon cargo area against the seat back
  • Any install where a square box eats usable floor

Woofer Details
The Arc Audio X2V2 10 is the 10 inch version of the same platform as the X2V2 12: 200 watts RMS continuous, 400 watts peak, 14.8mm of one-way linear Xmax, and a 2 inch copper coated aluminium voice coil on a Kapton former anodised black for radiative heat dissipation. Arc rates it conservatively. Their testing philosophy is to double test power after each successful round until something actually fails, so the 200 watt figure reflects sustained thermal capacity rather than a peak number. The four spoke stamped steel basket carries eight integrated motor cooling vents plus a T-yoke centre vent, and the motor uses double stacked magnets for efficiency. Why This Combo Works

Arc Audio X2V2 10 in a Proline X 0.70 Cubic Foot Sealed Wedge

Arc Audio publishes a sealed range of 0.65 to 1.0 cubic feet for the X2V2 10. This enclosure is 0.70 cubic feet net, near the lower end of that range. A smaller sealed box raises system Qtc, which trades some anechoic extension for more midbass punch and tighter transient control. In a vehicle, where cabin gain already reinforces the bottom end below 80 Hz, that trade usually reads as more impactful rather than less extended.

The X2V2 10 is rated at 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak, with 14.8mm of one-way linear Xmax from a 2 inch copper coated aluminium voice coil. Arc rates conservatively: their test philosophy is to double test power after each successful round until something actually fails, so the 200 watt figure reflects sustained thermal capacity rather than a peak dressed up as continuous.

The wedge shape is what makes it liveable. A square 0.70 cubic foot 10 inch cabinet eats a rectangle of cargo floor. This one leans against a seat back or bulkhead, occupies the space that was already awkward, and leaves the flat floor usable. The taper also keeps the baffle out of parallel with the rear glass, which helps with standing waves in a hatchback or SUV.

For amplifier power, target 150 to 200W RMS at your wired impedance. D2 wired parallel gives 1 ohm, D4 wired parallel gives 2 ohms. Match to the 200 watt RMS rating rather than the 400 watt peak, and confirm your amplifier is stable at the load you intend to run.

Materials
Material

Built From a Spec Sheet, Not a Sales Sheet

Every Proline X Performance Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF, 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure, because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.

Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used in our full Proline X lineup.

Specifications

Langboard Elite MDF: Published Mill Data

Property Value Why It Matters
Panel Stock Langboard Elite MDF Named, verifiable panel source, not generic "high-density MDF"
Thickness 3/4" (18mm) Industry standard for subwoofer enclosures; panels below this flex under pressure
Density 48.5 lbs/ft³ Higher density = less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance
Internal Bond 200 psi Measures resistance to delamination under sustained internal pressure. The most enclosure-relevant spec on this sheet
Modulus of Rupture (MOR) 4,200 psi Bending strength before the panel breaks, relevant for larger unsupported baffle spans
Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) 410,000 psi Stiffness under load; higher MOE means less panel flex under bass pressure, less resonance
Face Screw Holding 325 lbs How firmly the panel surface holds a screw; critical for baffle joint integrity over time
Edge Screw Holding 250 lbs Panel edge retention, relevant for every joint that isn't face-to-face
Internal Bond

200 psi: The Number That Actually Matters for Enclosures

The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually. The symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.

Stiffness

410,000 psi MOE: Less Flex, Less Resonance

The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness, its resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with V-groove and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level, not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.

Screw Holding

325 lb Face / 250 lb Edge: Joints That Stay Locked

Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint, where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X Performance Series enclosure is not going anywhere.

Sourcing

Named Panel Stock: Not "Premium MDF"

The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification. It is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.

Why Proline X?

Most enclosures are built to a price point. Proline X is built to a spec. Every box starts with published-data MDF, gets CNC-cut to exact internal volume, and is assembled by hand in our Tennessee facility. The difference shows up in the measurements — and in how the box holds up two years into daily use.
