What You Are Buying
A complete two-way 6.5 inch component system: two woofers, two 1 inch textile domes, two tweeter mounting fixtures, two high-pass crossovers, two low-pass crossovers, and a mounting hardware kit.
Note the crossover count. Most component sets ship one crossover box per side that handles both drivers. Dynaudio split the network into separate high-pass and low-pass modules, four boxes in total. That is more parts to mount, and it is also more control over where each half sits and how it is wired.
Read this before you buy
Final sale. No returns, no exchanges, no manufacturer warranty. Discontinued model with no replacement pipeline, so a failed driver cannot be matched. If you need warranty coverage, buy current production.
Reading the Specification
1.5 inch voice coil on a 6.5 inch woofer
This is the number worth stopping on. A 38mm coil on a 165mm cone is large for the size class, where 25mm is the common figure. Coil diameter buys two things: thermal capacity, because there is more wire and more former surface to shed heat through, and motor force, because more of the winding sits in the gap. On a midbass driver being asked to work hard in a door, both matter more than most spec-sheet numbers do.
1 inch textile soft dome
Textile rather than metal, and 25mm rather than the 19 or 20mm that is common. A larger soft dome moves lower with less effort, which is what allows a sensible crossover point, and it stays civil at the top instead of getting hard. This is Dynaudio's house character and it is the reason people buy them.
Separate high-pass and low-pass modules
Because the two halves are separate boxes, you can mount the low-pass near the woofer inside the door and the high-pass near the tweeter up in the pillar, rather than running long tweeter leads back from a single box. On a long run that is a real advantage. It also means twice as many mounting points to plan.
What Dynaudio Did Not Publish
There is no published power rating, sensitivity, impedance, frequency response or mounting depth for this model in the material we have. We are not going to fill those rows with numbers borrowed from a sibling model. If any of them decide the purchase for you, tell us and we will measure or check a set before it ships.
Straight answer
The reason to buy these is the motor and the dome, not the sheet. A 38mm coil and a 25mm textile tweeter in a Danish-built component set is a combination that costs real money in current production. What you are giving up is the paperwork, the warranty and the ability to replace one if it fails.
Who This Suits
Buy these if
- You want a large soft dome and a large voice coil in a 6.5 inch set.
- You are running an amplifier and can set a crossover by ear.
- You have somewhere to mount four crossover modules.
- You accept a final sale on a discontinued product with no warranty path.
Look elsewhere if
- You need a published power rating to size an amplifier precisely.
- You need a published mounting depth before you commit.
- You want a single crossover box per side and a simple install.
- You want warranty coverage or the option to return.
Installation
- Test-fit the woofer dry, window up and window down, before wiring. Depth is not published, so this step is not optional.
- Mount the low-pass module near the woofer and the high-pass near the tweeter. That is the layout the split network is designed for.
- Keep both modules dry and secured. Four boxes means four chances for something to end up sitting in a door drain.
- Amplifier into the crossover inputs, outputs to the drivers. Never feed the tweeter directly.
- Seal the inner door skin. A driver with this much motor deserves a door that is not leaking its output out the back.
Condition and sale terms
Closeout stock from a discontinued Dynaudio line. Sold as a final sale with no returns, no exchanges and no manufacturer warranty. Packaging may show shelf wear from storage. Power handling, sensitivity, impedance, frequency response and mounting depth are not published by the manufacturer for this model and are not stated here. Once remaining stock is gone this listing will be removed.
