What You Are Buying
A 100mm coaxial built to drop into Mercedes-Benz rear and parcel shelf locations without an adapter. The basket carries the Mercedes three-point mounting pattern and an integrated sealing flange, and the terminal is the coded connector the factory harness plugs into.
Discontinued line, remaining stock only, and we are not restocking it.
Check your car before you buy
This is a vehicle-specific part, not a universal 4 inch speaker. Mercedes used the three-point mount across many models but not all of them, and the parcel shelf and rear door locations differ between platforms. Tell us your model, year and which location you are filling and we will confirm the fit before you commit. Final sale means getting this right first.
Why the Basket Is the Product
The interesting engineering here is not the driver, it is the frame around it.
Fibreglass-reinforced polyamide, not stamped steel
Polyamide with glass fill can be moulded to a complicated shape and holds that shape. A stamped steel basket cannot carry a three-point mount and an integrated sealing flange in one piece. This is why the part drops straight in where an aftermarket round speaker needs an adapter plate, a gasket and a wiring pigtail.
Integrated sealing flange
The flange seals the driver to the mounting surface as part of the frame. On a parcel shelf that separates the cabin from the boot, that seal is not cosmetic: an unsealed driver lets the rear wave leak forward and cancels its own output at exactly the frequencies you wanted from it.
Coded connection terminal and reverse polarity protection
The connector only goes on one way, and the driver is protected if it somehow does not. On a rear speaker that gets fitted from an awkward angle with a trim panel half off, that is a genuine convenience.
Flat design
The driver is shallow enough for factory parcel shelf and rear locations where clearance is minimal.
The Driver
- Ribbed paper diaphragm. Paper for its natural damping, with ribbing to add stiffness without adding much mass.
- 15mm aluminium tweeter mounted at the cone centre. Small, bright and efficient. On a rear speaker firing at a rear window, wide dispersion matters more than reach, and 15mm disperses widely.
- Neodymium magnet. Strong for its size, which is what keeps the whole assembly shallow enough for the location.
- Made in Germany.
What Eton did not publish
There is no published power handling, sensitivity, impedance or frequency response for this model in the material we have. We are not filling those rows with numbers from a related part. If any of them decide the purchase for you, ask and we will check a unit before it ships.
Who This Suits
Buy these if
- You have a Mercedes with the three-point mount and want a true drop-in.
- You are replacing tired factory rear or parcel shelf speakers.
- You value a sealed, correctly mounted install over a spec sheet.
- You accept a final sale on a discontinued product with no warranty path.
Look elsewhere if
- Your car is not a Mercedes with this mounting pattern.
- You need published electrical specifications to plan a system.
- This is your front stage. A 100mm rear speaker is not that.
- You want warranty coverage or the option to return.
Installation
- Confirm the mounting pattern against your car before ordering.
- The connector is coded and only fits one way. Do not force it.
- Seat the sealing flange properly. A part that seals as designed and is fitted loose seals nothing.
- On a parcel shelf, check that the trim grille clears the tweeter before you refit it.
Condition and sale terms
Closeout stock from a discontinued Eton line. Sold as a final sale with no returns, no exchanges and no manufacturer warranty. Packaging may show shelf wear from storage. Power handling, sensitivity, impedance and frequency response are not published by the manufacturer for this model and are not stated here. Fitment must be confirmed against your vehicle before purchase. Once remaining stock is gone this listing will be removed.
