SKU: REVOLUTION 7A4
Pure amplification, zero coloration. The flagship Revolution 7A4 pairs Class AB High Bias power with an audio-grade signal path built on Burr Brown chips and Elna capacitors, for sound that is neutral, controlled, and refined at every level.
The Revolution 7A4 delivers 150 watts per channel at 4 ohms, 240 watts per channel at 2 ohms, and 480 watts per channel bridged at 4 ohms, all rated at 14.4 volts with a 2-ohm minimum load. That is serious authority for an audiophile amplifier: enough to run a full high-end active front stage, or to bridge into a pair of demanding midbass drivers without strain.
The measurements are where the flagship earns its place. Total harmonic distortion is 0.0035% at 1 watt across the audible band, signal-to-noise reaches 110 dBA at rated power (97 dBA by the CEA-2006 1-watt standard), and frequency response spans 5 Hz to 100 kHz measured at -0.5 dB, a far stricter window than the -3 dB figure most amplifiers quote.
Crescendo built the 7A4's signal path from components chosen for transparency. Burr Brown chips handle the preamp stage and Elna audio-grade capacitors sit in the signal path, a combination found in high-end home audio far more often than in a car amplifier. The dual symmetrical power supply eliminates noise and provides the dynamic headroom that keeps complex passages composed, and all four channels are individually calibrated for matched, accurate output across the soundstage.
For the purist, the 7A4 includes a preamplifier bypass option that routes the signal past the input gain stage entirely. Feed it a properly leveled signal from a high-output processor and the path from RCA to output stage gets even shorter.
Like every Revolution amplifier, the 7A4 carries no onboard filter. Crossover, time alignment, and EQ belong in your DSP; the 7A4's job is to amplify the result without editorializing. Paired with a Goldhorn processor, this is a reference-grade signal chain.
The 7A4 measures 360 by 215 by 54 millimeters (14.2 by 8.5 by 2.1 inches) and weighs a substantial 4.5 kilograms (9.9 pounds), most of it heatsink and power supply. The black and silver chassis keeps a low 2.1-inch profile for clean rack integration, onboard fusing is 2 x 50 amps, and protection covers thermal and short circuit conditions. Working voltage spans 10 to 16 volts, and input sensitivity adjusts from 900 mV to 5 V into a 10 kilohm input impedance.
Output stage biased toward Class A operation for linearity and detail at every listening level, with flagship power behind it.
Audio-grade preamp chips and capacitors selected for transparency, in a signal path built like high-end home audio.
Eliminates noise and delivers the dynamic headroom that keeps demanding passages composed at volume.
All four channels are individually calibrated for matched output, so the soundstage stays accurate left to right.
Route past the input gain stage entirely when feeding a high-output processor, shortening the signal path further.
5 Hz to 100 kHz at a strict -0.5 dB window with 110 dBA signal-to-noise. Reference numbers, not marketing numbers.
The Revolution 7A4 is the amplifier for systems where the goal is the truth of the recording: flagship power, an audio-grade signal path, and measurements that read like home audio. Pure amplification, zero coloration.
