Eton Speakers
For 2024 and 2025 F-150 owners, adding bass is no longer about throwing a universal box in the back. Ford's redesign of the rear cabin wall—specifically the relocation of modules and the intrusion of the power sliding window motor—means older enclosures simply do not fit. This collection features "Loaded Enclosures" specifically CNC-cut to contour around these 2024+ obstructions, ensuring you get premium low-end response while maintaining full use of your back seat.
Choosing the Right Loaded Enclosure
Because space is limited to roughly 3-5 inches of depth, the choice comes down to your preferred listening style: Precision vs. Output.
The Audiophile Choice (JL Audio): The JL Audio 10TW3-D4 enclosure is the benchmark for Sound Quality (SQ). It utilizes a sealed alignment that offers tight, accurate transient response. It is ideal for rock, jazz, and listeners who want the bass to blend seamlessly with the front stage rather than overpower it.
The Output Choice (Wavtech): If you want to move air, physics usually dictates you need a larger cone. The Wavtech ThinPro 12 defies standard shallow-sub logic by fitting a 12-inch driver in the same space as a 10. With a higher power handling capability, this unit provides the deeper sub-bass extension required for hip-hop and electronic music.
The "Daily Driver" Choice (Kicker): The CompRT 10 is designed for durability and punch. It features a passive radiator design in some iterations or a high-excursion reflex design that maximizes output from a small footprint, making it a great all-around performer for mixed genres.
Technical Features: Shallow Mount Engineering
Standard subwoofers require 5-6 inches of mounting depth, which doesn't exist behind an F-150 seat. These enclosures rely on specialized driver technologies:
- Concentric Tube Suspension (JL Audio): The TW3 drivers mold the spider structure inside the voice coil, saving nearly 2 inches of depth without sacrificing excursion (Xmax).
- Inverted Magnet Structures (Wavtech): By placing the magnet inside the coil or optimizing the motor structure, Wavtech allows a 12" cone to sit in a box less than 4 inches deep while handling massive power.
- Weather-Resistant Materials (Kicker): The CompRT series is built with UV-treated cones and Santoprene surrounds, ensuring longevity even if the truck environment gets dusty or humid.
Installation Advice
While these are "Direct Fit," they are not "Plug and Play."
1. Jack Removal: All behind-seat solutions for the 2024+ F-150 require the removal of the factory jack kit.
2. Amplification: You cannot power these off the factory head unit. A dedicated mono amplifier (400W-800W RMS depending on the model) is required.
3. Sound Deadening: Because the box sits directly against the metal rear wall, applying a layer of sound deadening material (like Hushmat) to the back wall is highly recommended to prevent metal-on-metal rattle.
