The most requested upgrade I hear is the simplest one: keep everything, just add bass. The link500.1mini is the amp I spec for that job more than any other. It is 9.2 inches long, takes signal from anything, and puts a real 500 watts at 2 ohms into a single sub. For a 10 or a shallow 12 in a daily driver, that is the sweet spot.

The input section is what makes it painless. The 40V hi-level input with adaptive loading taps straight into a factory amp, the RCA input takes up to 10V from an aftermarket deck, and the differential balanced inputs keep the noise floor quiet either way. Auto turn-on means no hunting for a remote wire on cars that do not have one.

Then bassFREQ does the part most add-a-sub installs skip: actual tuning. I set the 24dB low-pass so the sub hands off cleanly to the door speakers, put the subsonic filter just below the enclosure tuning to protect the driver, and use the parametric EQ to pull down the cabin boom. Ten minutes of dialing and the bass blends instead of just thumping. Add the linkRC and the customer gets their bass knob.

Wire your sub to 2 ohms for the full 500 watts, run clean 4-gauge power and ground, fuse at the battery, and set the gain with the clip LED. If the build calls for more output, step up to the link1000.1mini in the same width or the link1500.1plus for 1-ohm loads. For everything else, this little amp is the answer.

Wavtech Mini Series

link500.1mini | 500 Watt Monoblock Amplifier

Engineered from the ground up to be the best way to add bass to any system. 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms, full bassFREQ tuning, and a footprint so small it fits almost anywhere.

Add Real Bass to Any System

The link500.1mini exists for one job: adding a properly powered, properly tuned subwoofer to whatever system a vehicle already has. It produces 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms and 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms, real power for a single subwoofer, from a chassis measuring just 9.2 by 4.5 by 1.65 inches. That incredibly small size means it fits almost anywhere: under a seat, beside an enclosure, behind a trim panel.

The speaker level input handles up to 40V with Wavtech's adaptive loading technology while the RCA input accepts up to 10V, so it connects cleanly to factory and aftermarket head units alike.

The bassFREQ Processor: Tuned, Not Just Loud

Adding bass is easy. Adding bass that sounds right takes tuning, which is why the link500.1mini carries Wavtech's proprietary bassFREQ preamp. A variable low-pass crossover at 24dB per octave keeps the subwoofer focused below the front speakers, a variable subsonic filter at 24dB per octave protects the driver from over-excursion below its usable range, and a fully adjustable parametric EQ corrects the cabin resonance every vehicle has. That is the fine tuning required to get the best out of any subwoofer.

The optional linkRC remote adds front-seat subwoofer level control, so bass output can be matched to the music without reaching for the amplifier.

Effortless Integration, Solid Build

Like every Wavtech amplifier, the link500.1mini is built to drop into modern vehicles cleanly. Differential balanced inputs reject the noise that plagues factory integration, auto turn-on works through DC-offset or audio signal detection when no remote wire is available, and it is compatible with Start/Stop systems that cut power at idle.

The compact aluminum chassis uses detachable mounting tabs for flexible orientation, locking detachable hi-level speaker terminals, professional-grade panel-mount RCAs, and 4-gauge power and ground terminals. Active Thermal Management holds output under sustained load, and variable gain with a clip LED makes level matching precise.
