What You Are Buying
A two-way 5.25 inch component set: two wool pulp woofers, two 20mm silk dome tweeters, two external passive crossovers. Closeout pricing on remaining stock.
The 5.25 inch size exists because a lot of cars will not take a 6.5. If your doors or dash have 5.25 inch cutouts, this is what fits, and there are far fewer good options in this size than in 6.5.
Read the power rating before you set your gains
The 100W RMS figure is conditional. Audio Dynamics rates it with an electronic high-pass filter in circuit at 80Hz at 24dB/octave, 100Hz at 18dB/octave, or 120Hz at 12dB/octave. Run these full range and the rating does not hold. That is not a warning label, it is how the number was measured.
Reading the Specification
Wool pulp cone
Paper-family cone material with a fibrous structure that self-damps. What you get is a driver with no hard breakup peak in the upper midrange, which is where metal and some polypropylene cones ring and where the ear is most sensitive to it. The trade is stiffness: a wool pulp cone will not hold its shape at extreme excursion the way a composite will. On a 5.25 inch door speaker crossed at 80Hz and up, that trade is the right way round.
89.98dB sensitivity
Middling. High enough to be useful, not high enough to skip the amplifier. Plan on 50 to 100W RMS per channel. On head unit power these will play, but they will not open up.
20mm silk dome, neodymium motor
Silk rather than metal, so the top end is smooth instead of etched. Neodymium keeps the motor small enough to mount in a sail panel or A-pillar without a large housing behind it.
Crossover with tweeter attenuation
The external crossover gives you 0dB and minus 2dB tweeter settings, plus air core inductors on the network. Two decibels is a small adjustment, but on an off-axis tweeter aimed at the windshield it is often exactly the amount you need to pull back.
Pick your high-pass first
Steeper slope means lower corner. 80Hz at 24dB/octave protects the driver as well as 120Hz at 12dB/octave does, and gives you 40Hz more midbass. If your amplifier or DSP can do 24dB/octave, use it.
Fitment
- 119mm / 4 11/16 inch mounting diameter. Check this against your cutout, not the nominal 5.25 inch size.
- 54mm / 2 1/8 inch mounting depth. Shallow enough for most factory 5.25 inch locations.
- 4 Ohm nominal. No special amplifier consideration.
- Tweeters mount in sail panels, A-pillars or the factory dash location.
- The crossovers need a dry, secured home. Decide where before the door card comes off.

Buy these if
- Your car takes 5.25 inch and you want a real front stage out of it.
- You have 50 to 100W RMS per channel and a high-pass filter.
- You want a warm, unfatiguing voicing rather than a bright one.
- You accept a final sale on closeout stock.
Look elsewhere if
- You are running head unit power only. Sensitivity is not high enough to reward it.
- You have no way to high-pass them. The power rating depends on it.
- You want midbass. A 5.25 needs a subwoofer more than a 6.5 does.
- You want a coaxial and a one-hour install.
Installation
- Set the high-pass before you set the gain. In that order.
- Mount the crossovers where water does not collect and where you can reach the attenuation jumper later.
- Amplifier into the crossover input, crossover outputs to woofer and tweeter. Never feed the tweeter directly.
- Aim the tweeters at the far seat rather than straight at the listener. It costs a little on-axis energy and buys a lot of centre image.
- Seal the inner door skin. A 5.25 inch cone has little area to work with and a leaky door takes what it has.
Condition and sale terms
Closeout stock, sold as a final sale with no returns and no exchanges. Packaging may show shelf wear from storage. Specifications are as published by Audio Dynamics, including the power rating's dependence on external high-pass filtering. Once remaining stock is gone this listing will be removed.
