Value Class D power with a monitoring bass knob

Prodigy Audio is value Class D done right. The whole line is Class D, and the point is real power per dollar without cutting the features that keep a system alive: a bass knob that monitors voltage, temperature and clipping, and a four-way protection circuit for thermal, voltage, short and DC faults.

Two series carry it. The compact NBM line is 4.87 inches wide, a four-channel, a five-channel and a 1200W monoblock for tight installs. The full-size NB line is the higher-output chassis, a 200W four-channel and the 2800W NB2800.1 monoblock for a serious sub stage.

Where Prodigy Sits

Prodigy Audio is value Class D done right. The whole line is Class D, and the point is real power per dollar without cutting the features that keep a system alive: a bass knob that monitors voltage, temperature and clipping, and a four-way protection circuit for thermal, high and low voltage, speaker short and DC faults. This is the brand we reach for when the budget is set and it still needs to hit hard.

Two series carry it. The compact NBM line is 4.87 inches wide, a four-channel, a five-channel and a 1200W monoblock that fit tight installs. The full-size NB line is the higher-output chassis, a 200W four-channel and the 2800W NB2800.1 monoblock for a serious sub stage.

The Prodigy Lineup, Spec by Spec

Every new Prodigy amp we stock, with power and dimensions verified against the manufacturer. Multichannel power is per channel at 4 ohm with the 2 ohm figure in parentheses; the monoblocks show their 4, 2 and 1 ohm ratings.

Model Channels Class Power (RMS) Dimensions L×W×H (in) Price
NBM100.4 4-channel D 4 × 100W @ 4Ω (150W @ 2Ω) 8.66 × 4.87 × 2.13 $225.99
NBM1200.1 Monoblock D 550W @ 4Ω / 950W @ 2Ω / 1200W @ 1Ω 8.26 × 4.87 × 2.13 $272.99
NBM1000.5 5-channel D 4 × 100W + 250W @ 4Ω 12.20 × 4.87 × 2.13 $387.99
NB300.4 4-channel D 4 × 200W @ 4Ω (300W @ 2Ω) 11.8 × 7.4 × 2.24 $416.99
NB2800.1 Monoblock D 800W @ 4Ω / 1800W @ 2Ω / 2800W @ 1Ω 13.38 × 7.40 × 2.24 $527.99

The monoblocks are rated at 1 ohm, where a Class D bass amp does its work, and each also publishes its 4 and 2 ohm figures so you can match the wiring. The NBM1000.5 runs four channels plus a 250W sub channel, a whole system on one compact chassis. Every model ships with the bass knob and the full crossover set on its product page.

The NBM series: compact power

The 4.87-inch-wide line for tight installs. The NBM100.4 (4 x 100W) is the value four-channel at $225.99, the NBM1000.5 runs a full system on one chassis, and the NBM1200.1 is a 1200W monoblock stable to 1 ohm in an 8-inch footprint. See Class D amplifiers and 4-channel amplifiers.

The NB series: the higher-output chassis

The full-size line for more power. The NB300.4 is a 200W four-channel that bridges to 600W x 2, and the NB2800.1 is a 2800W monoblock at 1 ohm for a dedicated sub stage with the electrical system to feed it. See monoblock amplifiers and the 5, 6 and 8 channel page.

Match the amp to the driver and the wiring. The subwoofers live in car subwoofers and the drivers in component sets, tuning belongs to a DSP on a full build, and gain is what protects all of it: how we set amplifier gain. See the full range in the amplifier lineup.

Frequently Asked Prodigy Amplifier Questions

What is Prodigy known for?

Value Class D amplifiers that keep the useful features. The whole line is Class D, from a compact 4 x 100W four-channel up to a 2800W monoblock, and every amp ships with a bass knob that monitors voltage, temperature and clipping plus a four-way protection circuit. The point is real power per dollar without cutting the safety net.

What is the difference between the NBM and NB series?

Chassis size and output. The NBM series is the compact line, 4.87 inches wide, covering a four-channel, a five-channel and a 1200W monoblock for tight installs. The NB series is the full-size line, 7.4 inches wide, with the higher-output NB300.4 four-channel and the NB2800.1 monoblock. Both share the bass knob and the protection circuitry.

Which Prodigy amp do I use for a subwoofer?

One of the monoblocks, matched to the driver. The NBM1200.1 (1200W at 1 ohm) suits a single sub in a compact chassis, and the NB2800.1 (2800W at 1 ohm) is for a dedicated SPL build with the alternator and battery to feed it. Both are rated at 1 ohm and publish their 4 and 2 ohm figures. Match the amp's power at your wired impedance to the sub's RMS rating.

Which Prodigy amp runs a full system on one chassis?

The NBM1000.5. It runs four channels at 100W plus a dedicated 250W sub channel, so a compact five-channel powers the front stage and the sub together. It is the amp to reach for when space or budget only allows one chassis for the whole system.

Are Prodigy amps Class D?

Yes, the entire line. Every Prodigy amplifier, four-channel, five-channel and monoblock, is Class D, chosen for efficiency and heat control in a value chassis. That is why a 2800W monoblock stays compact and why the multichannel amps run cool enough for tight installs.

Do the amps come with a bass knob?

Yes. Every Prodigy amp includes a remote bass knob, and it does more than adjust level: it reads out system voltage, amplifier temperature and clipping. That gives you a live view of whether the electrical system is holding up and whether the amp has headroom, which is a real advantage at this price.

Are these new with manufacturer warranty?

Yes. Every Prodigy amplifier is brand new, sold by an authorized dealer, and carries the full manufacturer warranty. We handle warranty claims directly with the brand.
