INSTALLER'S TAKE

Every installer has a list of vehicles where there is simply nowhere to put an amplifier, and the Wendy exists for that list. Seven and a half inches long is small enough for spaces I usually rule out on the first walkaround: under seats with cross braces, console cavities, the dead space behind kick panels in some trucks.

What I respect is that US Acoustics did not cheat to get there. This is the same Full Complementary Class AB design as the rest of their analog line, with real Butterworth filters, not a stripped-down afterthought. Be honest with yourself about what 75 watts per channel is for: it is a proper component or coaxial amp for a daily driver, and bridged at 250 watts it will run a small sealed sub politely, not violently. Where the Wendy earns its keep in my world is as the extra channel pair in a bigger build.

When a system needs two more quality channels and the rack is already full, this amp solves the problem without a redesign. One practical note from experience with compact Class AB: heat is the enemy of small chassis. Give it airflow, do not stack anything on top of it, and set the gains correctly with a real signal. Do that and this little amp will run trouble-free for years.

US Acoustics Analog 2-Channel Series

US Acoustics Wendy 2-Channel Class AB Amplifier

Spunky Power. Real Full Complementary Class AB in the smallest chassis US Acoustics makes, 7.5 inches of amplifier that fits where nothing else will.

75W x 2 @ 4 Ohms 125W x 2 @ 2 Ohms 250W x 1 Bridged @ 4 Ohms 2-Year Warranty

The Smallest Amplifier in the Line, Built Like the Biggest

The US Acoustics Wendy delivers 75 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms and 125 watts RMS per channel into 2 ohms, with 250 watts RMS available bridged into a 4-ohm mono load, all rated honestly at 14.4 volts. It uses the same Full Complementary Class AB topology as the rest of the US Acoustics analog family, with total harmonic distortion below 0.01 percent and frequency response from 10 Hz to 30 kHz within half a decibel.

What makes the Wendy different is the package: 7.5 inches long, 8.9 wide, 2.2 tall. That is the smallest footprint in the entire US Acoustics catalog, small enough for under-seat mounting, console cubbies, and behind-panel spaces where a full-size amplifier was never an option. There is no Class AB penalty hiding in the size, either, the same Butterworth filters, Docking Pads, and protection suite carry over from the big amps.

Butterworth Crossovers Onboard

The Wendy carries the same serious filter set as its bigger siblings. The 12 dB per octave Butterworth high-pass sweeps from 80 Hz to 1.2 kHz for component and coaxial duty, and the 24 dB per octave low-pass sweeps from 10 to 250 Hz for bridged subwoofer use. There is no bass boost, remote, subsonic filter, or phase control on this model, the Wendy keeps it simple.

Three Ways to Run the Wendy

Compact Component Front Stage

75 clean Class AB watts per channel is a meaningful upgrade over any head unit and a proper match for quality components in a daily driver, especially when install space is the limiting factor.

Bridged Compact Subwoofer

Bridged to 250 watts RMS into 4 ohms with the low-pass engaged, the Wendy makes a tidy power source for a small sealed subwoofer build where the amplifier needs to disappear into the install.

The Add-On Channel Pair

In a larger system, the Wendy is the easy answer when you need two more quality channels, rear fill, a center build, or dedicated duty, without re-engineering the amp rack to fit another full-size chassis.

Install notes: onboard fusing is a single 30A fuse. Class AB runs warmer than Class D, so even at this size give the Wendy airflow rather than sealing it into a tight cavity. Angled terminals keep the wiring clean in confined mounting spots.

Built to the US Acoustics Standard

Docking Pads reduce vibration transfer to extend amplifier life, protection circuitry covers DC, short circuit, thermal, and overload conditions, and diagnostic LEDs make troubleshooting fast. Every Wendy sold by Audio Intensity is brand new from US Acoustics with a 2-year warranty through authorized dealers.
