Proline X - Professional Series Subwoofer Enclosures | Image Dynamics

These Proline X Professional Series subwoofer enclosures are built specifically for the Image Dynamics IDMAX line. They are engineered to handle the mechanical and thermal demands of high-excursion subwoofers operating at their rated power limits.

Each box is constructed with a double baffle configuration, which reinforces the mounting surface and reduces flex under high-displacement cone movement. This matters when you are running an IDMAX at full power in a sealed or ported alignment.

The Professional Series is designed for serious installs. It is the right choice for competition builds, high-output daily drivers, and any application where enclosure integrity directly affects system performance.

Internal volume and port geometry are matched to the IDMAX's Thiele-Small parameters. You are not working around a generic box design. The enclosure is built around the driver, so the subwoofer operates in the correct acoustic environment from day one.

Image Dynamics IDMAX Subwoofer Enclosures Built for Maximum SQ Output

Double Baffle Construction

The Professional Series enclosures use a double baffle design on the subwoofer mounting surface. This adds structural rigidity at the point of highest mechanical stress. When an IDMAX subwoofer moves at full excursion, the mounting board takes the majority of that force. A single layer of MDF will flex and fatigue over time. The double baffle eliminates that weak point entirely.

Matched to IDMAX Specifications

Generic enclosures use standard internal volumes that may not match the Thiele-Small parameters of your subwoofer. These boxes are designed around the specific Qts, Vas, and Fs values of the Image Dynamics IDMAX driver. The result is a subwoofer that reaches its intended frequency response and output without being over- or under-damped by the wrong box volume.

Sealed and Dual Configurations Available

The Professional Series line includes single and dual subwoofer configurations in sealed alignments. Sealed enclosures give the IDMAX tight, controlled bass with a predictable roll-off slope. Dual configurations allow you to run two subwoofers from a single amplifier channel pair without building a custom box. Each configuration maintains the same construction standards as the single-driver units.

Amplifier Requirements for This Build

The Image Dynamics IDMAX handles significant continuous power. To get full performance from the subwoofer, you need an amplifier that can deliver stable output at the driver's rated impedance. A mono amplifier rated at 500 to 1500 watts RMS at 2 or 4 ohms is the correct range for most IDMAX installs. Running underpowered limits output. Running overpowered without proper gain structure causes thermal failure.

Competition Grade Build Quality

The Professional Series sits at the top of the Proline X enclosure lineup. These are not entry-level boxes. The construction materials, joint reinforcement, and internal volume tolerances are held to a tighter standard than the Economy or Performance tiers. If you are building a competition system or a high-output daily driver where enclosure failure is not an option, this series is the correct choice.

Installation Fit and Finish

Each enclosure is sized with the IDMAX cutout diameter and mounting depth in mind. The subwoofer drops into the mounting opening without modification. Terminal cup placement allows clean wiring routing in trunk installs and hatchback builds. The exterior finish is durable and holds up to daily use without delaminating or scuffing under normal vehicle conditions.
