Choosing Your Series

Kicker offers distinct lines tailored to specific power levels and mounting depths. Use this guide to find your match:

• Comp & CompC: The entry-level standard. High sensitivity makes them perfect for factory upgrades or systems with modest power (under 300W RMS).

• CompR: The workhorse. Features dual voice coils, robust thermal management, and a stacked magnet structure. Ideal for daily driven systems running 500W–800W RMS.

• CompRT: True shallow-mount performance. Designed for under-seat truck boxes and tight spaces where full-size subs simply won't fit, without sacrificing low-end extension.

• L7 / L7R (Solo-Baric): The iconic square subs. These provide maximum bass for the available space. The L7 Series features a cast aluminum basket for extreme rigidity, while the L7R brings square-cone performance to a more accessible price point.

• SoloX: The competition monster. Built for extreme excursion and massive power handling (2000W+ RMS), designed for those chasing hair tricks and high scores.

The Square Advantage: It’s Simple Physics

Why go square? In a given circular space, a square shape utilizes more of the available area than a circle. Kicker’s patented square design provides approximately 20% more cone area than a round sub of the same nominal size.

• More Cone Area = More Air Movement

• More Air Movement = Higher Sound Pressure Level (SPL)

This allows an L7 12-inch subwoofer to perform closer to a 15-inch round driver, making it the perfect solution when you want big bass but have limited trunk width.

Enclosure Compatibility

While famous for their output in ported boxes, Kicker drivers are also engineered to perform exceptionally well in sealed enclosures.

• Sealed: Recommended for the Comp and CompRT series for tight, punchy bass that takes up minimal space.

• Vented (Ported): Highly recommended for the L7 and CompR series to unlock their full potential. Kicker provides specific "high output" porting specs that significantly boost volume in the 35Hz–45Hz range.
