INSTALLER'S TAKE

I have spent years competing and judging on the sound quality circuit, and not every system needs a DSP. When a customer wants a great front stage without the cost and complexity of going active, a well-built passive crossover is the right answer, and the Allure Crossover is built for exactly that.

What I like is the flexibility. The bi-amp inputs mean you can start with a single amplifier channel per side and keep it simple, then bi-amp later if you add amplifier channels, all without buying a different crossover. That is a smart way to let a system grow.

For setup, the jumper attenuation is the part people overlook. The Allure 1 tweeter is 90 dB and the Allure 6 is 87 dB, so the tweeter runs about 3 dB hot out of the box. I start with roughly 3 dB of attenuation on the jumpers, then trust my ears and adjust from there based on the car and how live the install is. Jumpers hold their setting and do not wear out like switches.

My honest take: if you are running active off a processor, you do not need this, your DSP does the crossover. But if you want a clean, reliable, tuned 2-way without a DSP, this is the piece that makes the Allure set sing.

Karma Mobile Audio Allure Crossover

Allure Series Passive 2-Way Crossover | Sold as a Matched Pair

Passive 2-Way Bi-Amp Inputs Jumper Attenuation 2,500 Hz 4 Ohm Allure Series

The Heart of the Passive Allure Set

The Karma Mobile Audio Allure Crossover is the matched passive network that turns the Allure 6 Midbass and Allure 1 Tweeter into a complete, tuned 2-way front stage. It is sold as a matched pair, one per side.

If you are not running a DSP, this is the piece that does the work for you. It sets the handoff between the midbass and the tweeter at the Allure 1's designed 2,500 Hz crossover point, and it lets you dial tweeter level with simple jumpers. No processor, no soldering, no guesswork.

Built to Perform

Everything here is aimed at a clean passive install with enough flexibility to tune the stage to your car and your taste.

Bi-Amp Inputs

Run a single amplifier channel passive, or feed the midbass and tweeter sections separately to bi-amp the set. The choice is yours as your system grows.

Jumper Tweeter Attenuation

Set tweeter level with jumpers instead of fragile switches. It is a cleaner, more reliable way to balance the top end to your install.

Matched to the Allure Set

Voiced specifically for the Allure 6 Midbass and Allure 1 Tweeter, so the two drivers blend the way the designer intended.

Simple, Reliable, Passive

A clean passive network gets a great front stage playing without a processor, the fastest path from box to music.

Passive or Active

The Allure Crossover is for passive and bi-amp installs. If you run a full active setup with a DSP, your processor handles the crossover instead and you would not use this network.

The Allure 1 is 90 dB sensitive and the Allure 6 is 87 dB, so the tweeter is about 3 dB hotter out of the box. Start with roughly 3 dB of tweeter attenuation on the jumpers, listen, then fine-tune until the top end blends with the midbass. Most cars settle in within a step or two of that starting point.

For a single-amp passive install, run one amplifier channel into the crossover input on each side and let the network split to the midbass and tweeter. To bi-amp, feed the midbass and tweeter sections from separate amplifier channels for more headroom and control.

Wiring and Mounting

Mount each crossover in a dry, accessible spot, behind a kick panel, under a seat, or in the door cavity away from moisture. Keep the runs to the midbass and tweeter as short and tidy as practical.

Build the full Allure front stage

Single-Amp Passive

One amplifier channel per side into the crossover, which splits to the Karma Mobile Audio Allure 6 Midbass and Allure 1 Tweeter.

Bi-Amp Passive

Separate amplifier channels feed the midbass and tweeter sections for more headroom and finer control.

Pairs With the Allure 6

Designed around the Karma Mobile Audio Allure 6 Midbass for a seamless low-to-mid handoff.

Pairs With the Allure 1

Sets the Karma Mobile Audio Allure 1 Tweeter at its recommended 2,500 Hz crossover point.
