INSTALLER'S TAKE

I have spent years competing and judging on the sound quality circuit, and the tweeter is where a lot of front stages fall apart. The Allure 1 holds together. It is smooth and detailed without that hard, splashy edge that wears you out on a long drive, and it stays composed when you turn it up.

The mounting is the clever part. There is a threaded lock ring that pulls the tweeter into a front recess, so a flush mount ends up looking and behaving like a rear mount. In a car that is a real gift. It lets me set tweeter height and aim in an A-pillar or sail panel without building a deep pod.

One rule with this tweeter, and with any tweeter: always high-pass it. I run the Allure 1 at 2,500Hz minimum, 24dB per octave, and I am happy taking it higher on a steep slope if the install calls for it. Never run a dome tweeter wide open. Cross it too low and you will hurt it. When in doubt, go higher and steeper.

One last thing on blending. The Allure 1 is 90dB sensitive and the Allure 6 is 87dB, so the tweeter is about 3dB hotter out of the box. That is normal. Start with roughly 3dB of attenuation, using the jumpers on the Allure Crossover or the tweeter channel level in your DSP, then fine-tune to taste. Aim the tweeters at the opposite headrest as a starting point and adjust from there.

Karma Mobile Audio Allure 1 Tweeter

Allure Series 1" SQ Tweeter | Sold as a Matched Pair

1" Soft Dome External Motor Waveguide Housing Pure Silver Leads 4 Ohm Allure Series

The Detail Engine of the Allure Set

The Karma Mobile Audio Allure 1 Tweeter is the flagship 1 inch tweeter in the Allure line, designed by speaker engineer Dr. Rishi S. Gurbani to pair with the Allure 6 Midbass for a complete front stage. It is sold as a matched pair.

A soft textile dome, an external motor, and a chambered, waveguide-loaded housing give the Allure 1 the kind of clean, detailed, well-controlled top end that holds together at volume. This is the driver that sets your stage height and brings out the air and detail in a recording.

Built to Perform

Everything about the Allure 1 is aimed at low distortion and controlled dispersion, so it integrates cleanly with the midbass instead of fighting it.

External Motor

An external motor structure keeps the magnetic field tightly controlled behind the dome for lower distortion and a cleaner high frequency response.

Chambered Waveguide Housing

A rear chamber lowers resonance and the integrated waveguide shapes dispersion, which makes the tweeter easier to place and blend in a real car.

Soft Textile Dome

A soft textile dome delivers a smooth, natural top end without the hard edge that fatigues your ears on long drives or at high volume.

Pure Silver Leads

Pure silver lead wires carry the signal to the voice coil with minimal resistance, a detail you usually only see on far more expensive tweeters.

Power and Crossover

Like any tweeter, the Allure 1 must be high-passed. Run it filtered the way it is designed to run and it stays clean and protected at any volume you will use in a car.

The factory sheet lists 10 watts nominal and 30 watts peak. That is the raw driver measured full-range with no crossover, which is not how a tweeter is ever used. Behind the recommended 2,500 Hz 24 dB-per-octave high-pass, the Allure 1 handles 100 watts RMS. The crossover is what protects a tweeter, so always run one. When in doubt, cross higher and steeper, not lower.

For a 2-way, high-pass the Allure 1 at 2,500 Hz and hand the midbass off to it at the same point. In a 3-way, let a dedicated midrange carry the band below and bring the tweeter in around 2,500 to 3,500 Hz for the smoothest blend.

Fitment and Integration

The Allure 1 uses a clever threaded lock ring that pulls the tweeter tightly into a front recess, so a flush mount sits like a rear mount. That makes for a clean A-pillar or sail-panel install without a deep pod.

Overall diameter: 60mm. Mounting depth: 27.5mm (1.08 in). Mounting: threaded lock ring for flush or surface mount. Impedance: 4 ohms.

Build the full Allure front stage

2-Way Front Stage

Pair the Allure 1 with the Karma Mobile Audio Allure 6 Midbass for a clean, full-range two-way.

3-Way Front Stage

Add the Karma Mobile Audio Aspect 3 midrange between the midbass and tweeter for the widest, most precise stage.

Active Setup

Run the Allure 1 direct off a multi-channel amp and set the high-pass and level in your DSP for full control.

Passive Setup

Wire it through the Karma Mobile Audio Allure Crossover and set output with the jumper attenuation, no resistors to solder.

The Top End Your Stage Has Been Missing

Every Karma Mobile Audio Allure 1 Tweeter from Audio Intensity is backed by a 2-year warranty and setup help from a working SQ judge.

Tell us your vehicle and your goals and we will dial in the right crossover, placement, and level. Built on sound quality first.
