Scott Welch
I'm Scott Welch, founder of Audio Intensity and the Proline X enclosure brand. I've been in the car audio business since 1985, first as an installer's assistant and then through every seat at the table: install bay, install management, regional distribution, national sales management, and now manufacturing and retail. Forty years in, I'm still building, still competing, and still learning.
Forty years in car audio
I started installing in 1985 and worked through install and install-management roles at Good Guys, MASA, Stereo Showcase, and Audio Xperts. From there I moved to the brand side: West Coast Distributor for Hybrid Audio, then National Sales Manager roles at Hybrid Audio, Zapco, and ESB. Every one of those jobs taught me something different about how this industry actually works, from the bench up.
I founded Audio Intensity in 2014 to bring all of it under one roof: retail, install, manufacturing, and the brand relationships I've spent decades building. In January 2026 I relocated the operation from California to Tullahoma, Tennessee, and rebuilt the shop around our ShopSabre CNC routers and Langboard Elite MDF stock. We're a working shop and a manufacturer, not a catalog.
Proline X and our brand portfolio
I launched Proline X in 2016 as our in-house custom CNC subwoofer enclosure brand. Every Proline X enclosure is designed and manufactured at our Tullahoma facility on ShopSabre routers, cut from Langboard Elite MDF, with our own ABS and carbon fiber composite terminal cups and pre-wired 12-gauge OFC. We build them the way I'd build one for my own truck, because we do.
Audio Intensity is also the exclusive US importer for Goldhorn DSP, Crescendo, and Audio Wave. We carry Audiomobile, Prodigy, Wavtech, Image Dynamics, Arc Audio, US Acoustics, and a curated lineup of brands I personally trust on a competition vehicle.
Competition record
I compete because it keeps me honest. You can't fake a tune in front of an IASCA or MECA judge. Between 2012 and 2018 I finished as champion or runner-up every single year in IASCA Ultimate 2-Seat and Pro Class, and I held California State and MECA State Champion titles across that same window. The vehicle that carried most of those trophies is my 2007 Charger SRT8, known on the circuit as SQHemi.

IASCA Finals Judge, 2019 to present
Since 2019 I've served as an official IASCA Finals judge. Judging at that level means evaluating the best installs and tunes in the world against a written technical standard. It's the other side of the competition coin and it sharpens everything I do back at the shop.
