Proline X Bronco Edition — Dual 12" Down-Firing Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure
Dual 12". Down-Firing.
Built for the 6th-Gen Bronco.
The Proline X Bronco Edition is a dual 12" sealed enclosure engineered specifically for the 6th-generation Ford Bronco cargo area. Down-firing orientation puts the drivers on the floor, keeps the top surface flat and functional, and uses ground-coupling to load the drivers acoustically. CNC-cut in Tennessee from Langboard Elite MDF. Pre-wired 12g OFC. Feet included. Drop it in, wire it up, and load gear on top.
Designed for 6th-generation Ford Bronco (2021–2025), 2-door and 4-door. This enclosure sits in the cargo area without factory mounting point integration. Confirm your available cargo dimensions and woofer mounting depth (8" max) and cutout diameter (11.25") before ordering.
Down-Firing Is Not a Compromise — It's a Design Decision
Down-firing subwoofer placement uses the vehicle's floor surface as an acoustic boundary. When a driver fires into a hard, reflective surface at close range, the floor acts as a passive radiating plane — loading the driver and reinforcing bass output across the low-frequency range. The result is deeper, fuller low-end than the same driver firing into open air in a standard orientation.
The secondary function is practical. With both drivers facing down, the top surface of the enclosure is flat, unobstructed, and load-bearing. Gear goes on top. The subwoofers are protected from cargo contact. You don't give up the Bronco's cargo utility to run a real audio system.
Ground-Coupling Loads Both Drivers Simultaneously
Down-firing position places both drivers within inches of the Bronco's cargo floor. The floor acts as an acoustic boundary that loads both woofers simultaneously — reinforcing output and producing a broader, more even low-frequency response than a rear-firing or up-firing configuration in the same space.
Polyfill Pre-Installed at the Factory
Both sealed chambers ship with polyfill pre-installed. Polyfill acoustically extends the effective internal volume, improving low-frequency extension without increasing box size. Factory installation ensures consistent packing density on every unit — not left to the installer to approximate in the field.
Dado and V-Cut Joinery — No Butt Joints
Every panel joint is machined with interlocking dado and V-cut geometry. The panels register mechanically before adhesive is applied, eliminating the gap variance that butt-jointed construction allows. Mechanical registration produces a tighter acoustic seal and a structurally stiffer assembly than surface-bonded panels.
Internal Bracing — Single-Layer Face, Rigidity by Structure
The face panel is single-layer Langboard Elite MDF with internal bracing placed at span intervals to control panel flex under excursion load. Bracing transfers the mechanical energy of the drivers into the enclosure structure rather than allowing it to flex the baffle — keeping the acoustic seal intact at real power levels.
Pre-Wired 12g OFC — Ready to Connect
Internal wiring is 12-gauge oxygen-free copper, terminated at the Proline X terminal cup and pre-run to the woofer cutouts before shipping. Pull the leads, connect your drivers, done. No internal wiring work required at install. OFC construction eliminates the resistive loss and long-term oxidation that CCA wiring introduces.
Langboard Elite MDF — Published Mill Data, Not Marketing Language
Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented panel product with published density, internal bond, and screw-holding specifications. 200 psi internal bond. 325 lb face screw holding. This is the same panel stock used across the full Proline X lineup — not a generic "premium MDF" designation with no verifiable spec behind it.
Universal Woofer Application — No Threaded Inserts
The baffle is cut for universal 12" mounting — 11.25" cutout, 8" max mounting depth. No threaded inserts means no proprietary bolt pattern to match. Mount any compliant 12" driver with standard hardware. Pair with whatever woofer fits your power level and budget — Audiomobile, Crescendo, Image Dynamics, or your preferred brand.
Feet Included — Proper Clearance Out of the Box
Feet are included and installed before shipment. They set the correct standoff distance between the enclosure and the Bronco's cargo floor — enough clearance for the drivers to fire and pressurize the floor boundary without bottoming out. No improvised spacers, no field modifications required.
Built in Tennessee on ShopSabre CNC Routers
Every Proline X Vehicle Specific enclosure is CNC-cut and hand-assembled in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Panels are machined on ShopSabre CNC routers — dado depth, V-cut geometry, cutout diameter, and external dimensions are held to spec on every unit. Internal volume is not approximated. It is calculated, programmed, and cut. The enclosure that ships to you performs to the same spec as the one used to develop the product.
Finished in plush black automotive carpet. Every unit is inspected before shipment.

Built From a Spec Sheet, Not a Sales Sheet
Every Proline X Micro Series enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite MDF — 3/4" (18mm) panels produced to published mill specifications. Most enclosure manufacturers source generic MDF without published data. We can tell you the internal bond rating, the modulus of elasticity, the modulus of rupture, and the face and edge screw holding strength for every panel in this enclosure — because we chose the material based on those numbers, not on price or availability.
Langboard Elite is produced in the United States. The specifications below are pulled directly from Langboard's published mill data and are verifiable. This is the same panel stock used across the full Proline X lineup.
Langboard Elite MDF — Published Mill Data
| Property | Value | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Panel Stock | Langboard Elite MDF | Named, verifiable panel source — not generic "high-density MDF" |
| Thickness | 3/4" (18mm) | Industry standard for subwoofer enclosures; panels below this flex under pressure |
| Density | 48.5 lbs/ft³ | Higher density = less porosity, better screw retention, reduced resonance |
| Internal Bond | 200 psi | Measures resistance to delamination under sustained internal pressure — the most enclosure-relevant spec on this sheet |
| Modulus of Rupture (MOR) | 4,200 psi | Bending strength before the panel breaks — relevant for larger unsupported baffle spans |
| Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) | 410,000 psi | Stiffness under load; higher MOE means less panel flex under bass pressure, less resonance |
| Face Screw Holding | 325 lbs | How firmly the panel surface holds a screw; critical for baffle joint integrity over time |
| Edge Screw Holding | 250 lbs | Panel edge retention — relevant for every joint that isn't face-to-face |
200 psi — The Number That Actually Matters for Enclosures
The internal bond rating measures how well the MDF panel resists delamination under sustained pressure applied perpendicular to the face. In a subwoofer enclosure, every bass transient generates a pressure pulse that pushes outward on every panel simultaneously. A panel that begins to delaminate internally loses stiffness gradually — the symptoms are slow: a box that starts to sound softer, less defined, less punchy over months of use. 200 psi internal bond is the spec that determines how long this enclosure holds its acoustic integrity under daily use at real power levels.
410,000 psi MOE — Less Flex, Less Resonance
The modulus of elasticity measures panel stiffness — resistance to bending under load. A stiffer panel flexes less under the pressure generated by a high-excursion driver at volume. Panel flex is a source of acoustic coloration: the panel itself begins to radiate sound at its own resonant frequency, adding distortion to the output. 410,000 psi stiffness combined with stack-fab layering and dado joinery means the panels stay rigid and the bracing controls resonance at the structure level — not the panel level. The bass you hear comes from the driver, not the box.
325 lb Face / 250 lb Edge — Joints That Stay Locked
Screw holding strength determines how firmly the panel grips a fastener at the face and at the edge. This matters most at the baffle joint — where the front panel meets the side panels and where the driver is mounted. A panel with low screw holding strength allows fasteners to loosen over time under vibration, leading to air gaps at the joint and loss of acoustic seal. 325 lb face screw holding strength means the baffle hardware stays put. Combined with dado joinery and adhesive, the front panel on a Proline X Micro Series enclosure is not going anywhere.
Named Panel Stock — Not "Premium MDF"
The phrase "premium MDF" or "high-density MDF" appears on marketing copy for enclosures across every price point, from $40 to $400. It is not a specification — it is a description with no defined standard. Langboard Elite is a named, sourced, mill-documented product with published data. We name it in our copy because naming it holds us accountable to the spec. You can look up Langboard Elite independently, verify the numbers on this page, and confirm you are getting what we say you are getting. That is the point.
