Proline X Micro Series sealed Image Dynamics subwoofer boxes compact footprint
What the Proline X Micro Series is
The Proline X Micro Series is a line of sealed subwoofer enclosures built around a reduced external footprint. They are designed for vehicle installs where depth or width clearance prevents a standard-sized box from fitting. Available for 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch Image Dynamics subwoofers in single and dual configurations, the Micro Series covers a range of output targets within a smaller cabinet envelope. This is a space-specific solution within the Proline X lineup, not a reduction in build quality or acoustic standard.
Sealed enclosure alignment
These are sealed enclosures — the driver operates in a fully enclosed air volume with no port or vent. A sealed alignment produces controlled transient response and a gradual low-frequency rolloff that integrates predictably with most amplifier subwoofer channels. Each cabinet is pre-loaded with polyfill, which increases the effective acoustic volume and allows the compact enclosure to approach the performance of a larger sealed box. This is particularly relevant in the Micro Series where the external dimensions are reduced by design.
Stack Fab cabinet construction
Cabinet walls are built using Stack Fab construction — MDF layers stacked and bonded under pressure into a single dense panel. This produces consistent wall thickness and a rigid structure that resists panel flex under repeated driver excursion and sustained power. Panel flex in a sealed enclosure changes the effective internal volume and introduces resonance into the output. Stack Fab eliminates this variable and is used as the standard construction method across the Proline X lineup.
Driver sizing and woofer mounting
The double mounting face accepts 8-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch Image Dynamics subwoofers in single and dual configurations. The recessed woofer cutout positions the driver flush with the baffle, protecting the surround during handling and reducing overall install depth. Mounting uses 8/32 machine screws into pre-installed threaded inserts — the screws are supplied. Threaded inserts hold torque consistently and allow the driver to be removed and reinstalled without stripping the mounting points, which is not possible with wood screws driven directly into MDF.
Terminal cup and factory wiring
Each enclosure uses the Proline X Advanced Terminal Cup, built in-house from ABS and carbon fiber with stainless steel hardware. Internal wiring from the terminal cup to the driver connection point is completed at the factory. This removes wiring as a variable at install and eliminates the need to work inside the cabinet after the driver is mounted. The stainless steel hardware resists corrosion across the temperature and humidity cycles common in vehicle environments.
Inclusions and install readiness
Each Proline X Micro Series enclosure ships with rubber feet, polyfill pre-loaded in the cabinet, prewiring from the terminal cup completed, and 8/32 machine screws for driver mounting. Rubber feet isolate the cabinet from the cargo floor and reduce vibration transfer. At install, mount the driver, connect the terminal cup, and secure the box — nothing else is required. This build-out standard is consistent across how Audio Intensity prepares the Proline X range for end users and installers.
