1. Material Science: Soft vs. Hard Domes In the reflective environment of a vehicle, dome material plays a massive role in the final voicing.

Soft Domes (Silk, Textile): Known for a smooth, natural sound. They have excellent internal damping, making them forgiving of poor recordings and hard reflective surfaces (like glass windows). They typically offer wider dispersion, making them a great choice for off-axis factory locations.

Hard Domes (Aluminum, Magnesium, Beryllium): Prized for their stiffness and low mass. They extend higher into the frequency range (often past 20kHz) and offer incredible detail and "snap." However, they require careful tuning to avoid harshness in a car environment.
2. Resonant Frequency (Fs) Matters When building an active system, the Fs of the tweeter dictates how low you can cross it over.

Standard Tweeters (Fs ~1500Hz+): Typically crossed over above 3500Hz. Best for 3-way systems where a midrange handles the vocals.

Large Format / Wideband (Fs <1000Hz): Can be crossed over as low as 2000Hz. This is crucial for 2-way systems (Tweeter + Door Woofer) because it allows the tweeter to "lift" more of the vocal range up to the dashboard, raising your soundstage.
3. Placement Strategy: On-Axis vs. Off-Axis

On-Axis (Facing You): Delivers the most detail and highest frequency extension. Ideal for custom A-Pillar builds or sail panels.

Off-Axis (Facing Each Other or Windshield): Relies on reflections or wide dispersion. If you are using factory dashboard locations firing into the windshield, a Soft Dome is often the safer bet to avoid "shouty" reflections.
4. Active System Design Most of the drivers in this collection are sold à la carte, intended for "Active" systems. This means you will not use a passive crossover box. Instead, you will use a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) or an active crossover on your amplifier to assign the specific frequency range to the driver. This gives you total control over the crossover slope, time alignment, and level matching, ensuring perfect integration with your midbass drivers.
