Ten inches is the default for a reason. It goes low enough for most music, it fits spaces a twelve will not, and more drivers are built at this size than any other, which means more cabinets cut to a specific model rather than to a size class.

This is the broadest page in the catalogue. Every build standard we make appears here, in all three orientations, sealed and ported, machined in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to the parameters published for the driver each cabinet names.

Size Is the Start of the Decision, Not the End

Two ten inch subwoofers from different lines want measurably different net volumes, because compliance and resonance differ even where the cutout does not. That is why most of the cabinets here name a driver rather than a size, and why matching the model number is the decision that actually changes how the system sounds.

The universal-cutout cabinets are the exception and the right answer when the driver is not decided yet. Everything else is cut to one model published figures, and the product page says which.

How to Choose a 10 Inch Enclosure

Start with depth, not sound

It is the constraint that rules options out fastest at this size, and no amount of getting the alignment right rescues a cabinet that does not fit.

Then the orientation the space allows

Down-fire needs a flat, solid floor and counts its feet into the total height. Wedge needs something angled to sit against. Standard front-firing is the default when neither constraint applies.

Then single or dual

A dual is not two singles bolted together. Each chamber is cut tighter than the same driver would get on its own, because the cabinet still has to fit the same space. That is deliberate rather than an error.

Loaded or bare

More cabinets ship loaded at this size than at any other. Loaded removes the two things installers most often get wrong, gasket seal and coil wiring. Bare is right if you already own the driver.

Do not shop on volume alone

A published net volume is only meaningful next to the driver it was cut for, and a figure that looks small against a generic ten inch box is usually correct rather than stingy.

Depth, Vehicle, Then Driver

Mounting depth eliminates the most options fastest

If the space under your seat or in your cargo well will not take a standard-depth cabinet, you are in Micro Series territory and the choice narrows immediately. Measure before you shop rather than after, with trim in place rather than off a drawing.

Then check whether we already cut one for your vehicle

This size carries more direct-fit cabinets than any other, for named trucks and specific year ranges. A direct-fit box fits without trimming or losing seat travel, which a universal cabinet in the same space will not. The platforms changed between generations, so check the year range on the listing.

Then the driver model

Net volume is set by the driver rather than by the cone diameter. Filter to your model, and if we do not list one for it, the universal-cutout cabinets take any ten of the right size and depth.

Direct Fit Is Concentrated at Ten Inches

This size carries more Vehicle Specific cabinets than any other, cut to a named cab and year range rather than to a generic opening. That is not a coincidence: a ten is usually the largest driver a behind-seat or under-seat space will take. Ford platforms changed between generations and the boxes do not interchange, so check the year range before ordering.

Every Series, Every Orientation

Performance Optimized is the bulk of the range, each cabinet cut to one driver on a 1.5 inch double baffle. Vehicle Specific covers the direct-fit builds for named trucks and their year ranges. Micro Series covers the shallow-mount builds for openings a standard cabinet will not take, and Performance and Professional sit either side on universal and reference terms.

All three orientations are here. Standard front-firing is the default, down-fire aims the cone at the floor with the clearance designed in, and wedge tapers on the rear panel so the cabinet sits flush against a seat back. Orientation changes where the box fits, not how the driver is loaded.

10 inch Subwoofer Box Questions

Is a 10 inch subwoofer enough?

For most music and most vehicles, yes. A ten reaches low enough that the difference from a twelve shows up mainly on content with deep sustained bass, and it fits spaces a twelve will not. Where a ten genuinely falls short is sustained high output, and the answer there is usually a dual rather than a larger single.

Why do two 10 inch boxes for different drivers have different volumes?

Because net volume is set by the driver rather than by the cone diameter. Two ten inch subwoofers from different lines have different compliance and resonance, so they want measurably different cabinets. Match the model number named on the product page rather than the nominal size.

What is the difference between standard, down-fire and wedge?

Where the box fits, not how the driver is loaded. Standard front-firing is the default. Down-fire aims the cone at the vehicle floor and ships with feet that set the clearance the design needs. A driver-matched cabinet will get more out of a specific model, because the volume is cut to that model published figures.
