The VXF-15 did not clear the port gate there. The calmest wedge port that fits that envelope is 26.4 square inches at 24.0 by 11.12 by 17.86 inches, and its mouth runs 21.3 metres per second at 1500 W against the 17 metres per second line where a port starts to chuff. That port would stay clean to about 957 W. Some of it is softer than it looks. Skar gives no driver displacement anywhere, so 0.229 cubic feet is our estimate from comparable 15 inch woofers; it moves the tuning by a fraction of a hertz. Skar does not say how the Xmax was measured, so we size port and power against it rather than past it. Also: Skar publishes no outside frame diameter for its 15s; 15.36 inches is our estimate from the 13.86 inch cutout, and the baffle is sized with margin for it. Tuning includes a 1.5 Hz fold loss that is an estimate, not a bench measurement.
