The Elite 12 did not clear the port gate there. The calmest wedge port that fits that envelope is 24.7 square inches at 27.0 by 10.00 by 15.64 inches, and its mouth runs 18.9 metres per second at 1200 W against the 17 metres per second line where a port starts to chuff. That port would stay clean to about 970 W. The frame is taken as 12.50 inches, the larger of the nominal size plus half an inch and the 10.94 inch cutout plus a typical flange, so the baffle is never cut short; the 0.107 cubic feet of displacement is our estimate from comparable 12 inch woofers and moves the tuning by a fraction of a hertz. American Bass does not say whether its 14 mm Xmax is one-way or peak to peak; we read it as one-way and keep power at its own rating. Tuning includes a 1.5 Hz fold loss that is an estimate, not a bench measurement. American Bass does not publish the mounting hole locations for the Elite 12, so we cannot install the threaded inserts before it ships.
