Motor design features 280 ounces of ferrite, upper and lower aluminum Faraday shorting rings, vented pole with coil-gap radial vents, and a 2.75\" flat-aluminum voice coil. Heavy cast aluminum frame doubles as a heat exchanger. Nomex spiders with double stitched-in tinsel leads, competition-grade treated paper cone, carbon fiber dust cap, and heavy-duty foam surround complete the package.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe 0.51 cubic foot net volume was selected to give the NB5-10 an extended musical alignment: the D2 coil lands at Qtc 0.58 (extended, approaching Bessel) and the D4 coil lands at Qtc 0.64 (extended musical, between Bessel and Butterworth) based on Prodigy's published T\/S parameters. Both are loose, extended alignments that give the driver plenty of air to work with.
