driver is vented at 34.0 Hz

This cabinet is built to Audiomobile's own ported box for the EVO 2410: 1.02 cubic feet net, the top of the 0.65 to 1.0 range Audiomobile gives, tuned to 34 Hz through a 13.0 square inch triangular port. Audiomobile does not publish the motor figures (Qes, Qms or Bl) a ported model needs, so this page does not print a modeled F3, ripple or excursion curve the way our other ported pages do: the volume and tuning are the maker's box, not a result of our solver. A 30 inch wedge has room for a 12.95 square inch port at this tuning, smaller than the 18 the EVO's cone displacement would ask for, so the port works harder: an estimated 16 m/s at the mouth at 500 watts, under the 17 m/s line where a port starts to chuff but close to it. Run it at or under the rating. If you want more port headroom, the dual uses the full scaled port.

The EVO's Fs 27 Hz, Qts 0.50 and Vas 31 liters are not from a published Audiomobile sheet, and no Qes is published at all, which is why the alignment here is Audiomobile's box rather than our model. Displacement is taken as 0.08 cubic feet per driver, and tuning carries a 1.5 Hz fold loss that is an estimate.

Trunk-load wedge, explained

The cabinet is 30.00 inches wide and 13.5 tall, 7.62 inches deep at the top and 12.54 at the base. The back rakes 20 degrees to sit against the rear seat; the baffle stays vertical, so the driver fires rearward into the trunk.

The port is the product

The port is a triangular slot formed by the floor, the back panel and one bevelled panel seated in dados, running 23.4 inches along the back and exiting through the side with a 0.5 inch roundover on all three edges of the mouth. Its 13.0 square inches carry the driver's air out through the side.

Run a subsonic filter

Below tuning the port stops loading the cone and excursion climbs fast. The 3.9 in motor clears the port panel with 1.85 in to spare. Audiomobile prints no bolt circle, so the baffle ships undrilled with a threaded insert kit and stainless machine screws: set each driver in its recess, mark its holes, drill and press the inserts. Cut from Langboard Elite 3/4 inch MDF with V-groove and dado joinery and a 1.5 inch double baffle.

Power, wiring and warranty

Audiomobile rates the EVO 2410 at 500 watts RMS; aim for 350 to 500.
