Cutout is 9.13 inches each. The drivers feature aluminum heatsink dust caps over high-strength paper cones, die-cast shallow frames, vented poles for cooler operation, oversized push terminals, black spiders with woven tinsel leads, and wrap-around ABS mounting gaskets. Diamond states the motor and suspension symmetry are \u003cstrong\u003eKlippel optimized\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis enclosure follows the Proline X standing design rule for dual sealed builds: \u003cstrong\u003etwo fully separate chambers\u003c\/strong\u003e divided by a bonded full-height 3\/4 inch MDF panel, giving each driver its own dedicated airspace. Two drivers sharing one sealed volume interact acoustically, with each driver's compression phase becoming the other's pressure environment, which smears transient response and blurs the alignment each would have on its own. First, each chamber is larger than Diamond's suggested 0.45 cubic feet per driver, which would put the D2 near Qtc 0.98 and the D4 above 1.14. At 0.80 net per chamber you get better damping and 2 to 3 Hz more extension, and Diamond's manual presents their enclosure table as a suggestion rather than a specification.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSecond, the figures above are \u003cstrong\u003ecomputed from the T\/S parameters Diamond publishes\u003c\/strong\u003e, and they do not match the Qtc values printed in Diamond's enclosure table. Running their own Qts and Vas through standard sealed box math produces higher Qtc than their table shows. We publish the computed number because it follows from the driver data.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFiring down into the floor, the sealed rolloff meets rising cabin gain below 60 Hz, and in-car response extends well below the anechoic figure.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eConstruction is the full Proline X Performance Optimized platform: ShopSabre CNC-cut Langboard Elite MDF with \u003cstrong\u003eV-groove and dado joinery\u003c\/strong\u003e, perimeter cross-bracing, and \u003cstrong\u003edouble-layer 1.5 inch front baffles\u003c\/strong\u003e (two 3\/4 inch sheets bonded) at both driver positions. Corners are square on Down Fire cabinets. Both drivers fire down into the floor, and \u003cstrong\u003eone side-mounted\u003c\/strong\u003e Proline X ABS\/carbon fiber composite terminal cup serves both chambers, fed in parallel to both driver positions with 12 gauge OFC.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBring your own pair of DMD102SH or DMD104SH subwoofers. Both are dual voice coil, so you set your final impedance at the drivers.
